Chapter Sixty-Six

‘you’re so cheesy!’ I laughed.

‘yupp that was kinda cheesy’ he laughed, ‘but totally true’ he winked.

‘does drink make you even more cheesy or what?’ I laughed hugging him. I looked over his shoulder.

‘you know we should probably think about getting Lexi back to the hotel’ I said quietly.

I felt him nod. ‘I’ll go get her, I’ll meet you outside’ he smiled as he made his way through the crowd.

I turned and started to make my way across to the door. Suddenly a woman stepped in front of me.

‘Hi there, you’re Molly Fraser right?’ she smiled.

‘I nodded, ‘yupp that’s me’.

‘hi there I’m, Serena Mathers head of the BBC’ she grinned.

‘oh wow, it’s wonderful to meet you’ I grinned shaking her hand.

‘Now Molly I have something to ask you’ she grinned, I just stared at her in awe. The BBC is huge in the UK.

‘have you heard of Comic Relief?’ she smiled.

I nodded. It was a charity set up by the BBC to help children in the UK and under-developed countries.

‘Of course I have! The work you guys do is great!’ I smiled.

‘well I’m glad you think so … how would you like to be the singer of our Charity single this year?’ she smiled.

My jaw dropped, the singles almost always got to number one and it raised a hell of a lot of money for the charity. ‘I’d love to!’ I laughed.

‘Brilliant!’ she laughed. ‘now this is going to sound short notice, but we’d really like to record the song as soon as possible’

‘that’s fine with me’ I grinned.

‘okay, how about tomorrow? We’ll do the video shoot and record the song. You’ll probably have heard of it - Just Can’t Get Enough by Depeche Mode?’

My eyes widened as I grinned. ‘ I love that song!’

‘well we’ve refurbished the track a little but it’s more or less the same. So can we see you at the studio at 2?’

‘yes you can!’ I grinned and shook her hand. I ran along the halls and out to where Justin was standing with Lexi’s pram.

‘Guess what!’ I screamed.

He jumped then turned around laughing. ‘Molly don’t do that! But what?’

‘I’m the singer of the charity single for Comic Relief!’

‘Shut up! How did you get that?!’ he said as we started to walk, the hotel was only 10 minutes from the studio.

‘The lady came up and asked me, it’s gonna be amazing. I’m shooting it tomorrow, it’s you know Depeche Mode - Just Can’t Get Enough?’ I smiled.

He nodded, ‘well a faster version of that!’ I squealed.

‘aw that sounds amazing!’ he smiled as we walked into our room.

‘I know right!’ I smiled taking off my shoes.

‘I’m just gonna go feed Lexi’ he smiled and went into the bathroom to get her bottles.

I lay down on the bed and it hit me just how tired I was. I yawned and fell asleep.
