Part 31 : Promises

Skyler's pov

I dont know how long we've been walking.... an hour? Our injuries really slowed us down. Especially me.

We had to wait a while before carrying on since my leg wasn't in a good state right now. Mike wasn't doing any better. There was a limp to his step as well.

His bottom lip is busted open and he winces once in a while I've noticed.

"Man Jack must be freaking out right now" Mike teased in attempt to lighten up the mood. "I bet his crying all over Brady's shirt worrying that his one a only love might be in grave danger" He dramatically said.

At times like this I was glad that he couldn't see because he wouldn't be able to see how red I am right now.
"Shut it" I spat. He chuckled.

"Whatev-" Mike cut himself off by standing still. His eyes widened as he looked ahead. "What what's wrong" I asked. "There's another one" Mike said clearly panicked.

I looked ahead expecting to see nothing but I was met with a bulky vampire that was snarling at both of us. He had tattoos all over his body and his eyes were a deep shade of scarlet.

His fangs were as sharp as a knife and there were vein-like patterns around his eyes.

But that's not what bothered me. What bothered me was the guy lying on the ground with a wound on his stomach as he bled to death.

"Jack?" My voice came out squeaky.
"P-ple..ase....h-hel....p-"Jack was cut off by the vampire that snapped his neck in an instant. "Tsk....this guy is a chatty one huh" The vampire said smiling evilly at me.

Then it hit me.

Mike can see him. But.....but I can too?

Is this real or what. Oh my goodness I hope this isn't real because I swear a part of me just died right now.

"Jack?.....J-...p-please wake up....I....pl-" I was cut off. "He's gone sweetie" The vampire laughed. He licked his lips and eyed me up and down. "Mmmh I'm gonna enjoy sinking my fangs into you" He started.

At that time everything in me snapped. My eyes turned blue immediately and my hair grew longer than I've ever seen it grow. The white colour seeming more dominant.

My body's temperature dropped drastically and right now I couldn't care if he was real or not I just wanted to snap he's neck.

To my surprise ice-like wings emerged on my back and little matching wings grew on my head. They looked more like horns though.

The vampires smile vanished and he stared at me in disbelief. "Impossible" He said. "Only the daughter of-" I cut him off.

"SHUT UP!!" I spat. "I DON'T GIVE A FXCK IF YOU'RE REAL OR NOT BUT JACK BETTER BE OKAY OR I SWEAR I'LL KILL YOU WITH MY BARE HANDS ILLUSION OR NOT!" I screamed once again.

He was now visibly shaking with fear.
"I'm....I-....I-I apologise...b-but...p-please. ......be-believe me I....I don't even b-belong here....I was s-sent here b-by the king...I w-was just following orders" That thing stuttered out.

No doubt he was talking about Michaels dad. I calmed down. My wings disappearing and my eyes and hair returning to their normal shades.

"That must explain why we can both see him" Mike muttered more to himself than to me. But I still don't get it....even if he wasn't meant to be here he is still real isn't he?

Now why can I see him ass well.
"Is he here?" I asked the vampire. I just nodded not trusting his voice.
"Is that real" I nodded my head in the direction of Jack refusing to look at him. The vampire shook his head.

"The prince is safe with his friend at the other side of the maze." He finally spoke. I nodded. "How far away is The King" I asked once again being careful not to let my guard down. Something about this guard was giving me the creeps.

"Uhmm....he's just....he's Uhmm..not far?" He said or more like asked. I began getting annoyed. What was this thing trying to do. Obviously he was lying. My eyes flickered and I glared at him.

"Where is he" I spat. The vampire flinched. "I'm sorry Princess" He whispered. Just then I heard distant footsteps from behind us. Mike panicked.

It's them.

Dammit I didn't think they'd find us so soon. Suddenly the vampire was in front of us in a second.

"Go.....I'll stall them....please Princess find the treasure and save us all....I made a mistake by trusting King Daniel...but you have to understand I have a family....and the Queen has banished all of us from the Kingdom of Krystel despite us having Krystel blood."

"I had to protect my family and the King threatened to harm them if I didn't help him...." The footsteps grew louder.

"Go My princess....." He said. I smiled.
"I'll do my best to succeed and after that I promise you that you and your family won't live in fear of your lives ever again. Stay alive for me and for them okay" He nodded.

Mike and myself rushed out of there and soon Mikes vision was back and we were out of the maze. Jack immediately crushed me in a high telling me how stupid I was for taking so long and making him worry but we could worry later.

"Jack we have no time to talk......Michael's dad is on our tail as we speak." I said in a rush. Jack's eyes widened and so did Brady's. Without thinking twice we all fled carrying on with our journey.

Now I was more than determined to get the Crown of ice and help Jack get the Crown of fire. I've made a promise to my vampire friend? Nah more like ally.

I've made a promise to myself as well. That I will find this this crown and save my Kingdom. As the Princess of Krystel it is my duty.
