audrey walked back into her apartment as the sun started rising, tendrils of orange and red peeking through her windows and brightening up her home.

"i hate the sun," audrey groaned, pulling the blinds to cover the light coming from the glass panes. "i hate you, you stupid ball of fire."

audrey walked into her bedroom, taking off her clothes and changing into one of daniel's long shirts, rolling into her bed.

with a yawn, audrey cuddled up to her teddy bear, and went to sleep.

the ringing of audrey's phone woke her up three hours later, making her squint as she picked up the device and looked at the caller id.

julian (the asshole)

pressing the green answer button, audrey sighed, "hello?"

"hey, audrey."

"what to you want?"

"my money, obviously."

"okay, i'll send it to you, just gimme a sec."

audrey ended the call, rolling her eyes as five thousand dollars was transferred out of her bank account to julian's.

fuck you, julian.

audrey got up, stretching her arms as she walked into her bathroom, then stepped into the shower.

she got ready, pulling a white crop top over her head and shorts on her hips, white converse on her feet and the pearl necklace resting on her collarbones.

she slid her pearl ring on her ring finger, grabbing her purse and keys before heading out the door to get some lunch.

twenty minutes later, she was at panda express, eating her chow mein and honey walnut shrimp, while scrolling through instagram.

she was taking her last bite of noodles when her phone vibrated in her hand.

audrey was straightening up the pillows on her couch when the doorbell rang, meaning adam was here.

she opened the door wordlessly, letting adam close it behind him as she walked into the kitchen, getting her brother a glass of water.

adam sat on the couch, messing up the pillows audrey had just fixed up. "thank you for letting me stay."

audrey didn't answer, just handed the tall glass of water to adam. "thank you for the water."
