the girls were currently at walmart, cart filled with chips, cake mix, brownie mix, ice cream and chocolate.
"i hope you're paying for this," christina laughed as audrey threw in a large jar of nutella.
audrey sighed. "obviously i am, christina."
christina shook her head, still smiling. "great, let's get a bottle of wine then?"
"they check id's, tina, and i'm not in the mood to drink."
christina had a look of shock on her face. "audrey lee isn't in the mood to drink? how interesting."
audrey rolled her eyes, placing a twix bar into the cart before moving to the jewelry aisle, where everything was on sale.
ten minutes later, the girls had picked out some pretty necklaces and earrings to wear.
"why are you even buying any necklaces? you only wear the pearl one anyway."
"well, i can't do that anymore, can i?" audrey snapped, her fingers flying to her neck, missing the feeling of the pendant.
christina furrowed her brow, and audrey immediately felt bad, "i'm sorry, i'm just in a weird mood."
"yeah, it's okay," tina said, looking at a pair of earrings in her hands, holding them up. "how do they look?"
"beautiful, just like you."
christina grinned. "i love you, bitch."
"i love you more, now let's go home."
☆
"what should we make, brownies or cupcakes?" audrey asked, looking in between the two boxes. "i want brownies but cupcakes are so pretty."
"brownies," christina said, plucking the box out of audrey's hands and setting it on the counter. "we should add some vodka to give it some flavor, ya know?"
"i don't have any vodka, tina," audrey said, shaking her head as she grabbed a bowl to mix all the ingredients in.
christina sighed. "you need to get laid. you sound like a 30 year old."
"rude!" audrey gasped, a big grin on her face. "what a bitch."
"excuse me?" christina said, flicking water towards audrey. "i'm the bitch?"
"yes you are," audrey said, throwing some of the mix into tina, smirking.
"i would say food fight, but i really want some brownies," christina said, laughing. "so let's get baking."
☆
they were eating ice cream and brownies, 'the perfect date' playing on netflix, although the girls were really just talking and eating.
"i need to go home," christina groaned, looking at her phone. "i don't wanna leave."
"then don't," audrey said. "stay over another night, i have clothes and we have class together tomorrow anyway."
"i have such a smart best friend," christina said, texting paige to tell her she wouldn't be home. "thank goodness for you."
audrey finished off her ice cream, grabbing christina's half eaten bowl. "i'm eating this."
"go for it," christina said. "i'm full."
audrey finished off dessert, standing up and heading to the kitchen, grabbing a glass of water to drink.
"the boys said they'll be back here in two weeks," christina said. "corbyn just confirmed it."
"oh thank god," audrey said. "i miss them already."
the girls settled on the couch, both sharing a blanket as movies kept playing on the tv.
"i'm going to the bathroom," audrey said after a while, running quickly to the room, the door slamming behind her.
after a few long moments, audrey still hadn't returned, so christina got up, knocking on the door.
"babes? everything okay?"
"y-yeah," audrey said, the sound of a faucet turning on almost drowning out her voice. "i'm fine."
christina went back to the couch, audrey joining her soon after.
the brunette stared at her friend, eyes worried. "are you okay?"
"yeah, i'm okay," audrey assured her, her eyes pointed towards her phone. "i'm all good. i just have a cold."
christina nodded, it was normal that both of them would get sick after traveling.
it was silent, both the girls watching the tv for a little bit before audrey spoke up.
"i think i'm pregnant."
christina blinked, looking at audrey with wide eyes.
"what?"
"i think i'm pregnant, christina."
christina took a breath, moving closer to her best friend. she wrapped her arms around her tightly, audrey shaking with tears in her eyes.
"hey, hey, it's okay," christina whispered. "but we need to make sure you really are and that it's not just you being sick, okay?"
audrey nodded, "should we get the test now? i don't think i can sleep without knowing."
christina pulled herself and audrey to their feet, "let's go, babes, everything's gonna be alright."
☆
they were in the bathroom of the drugstore, audrey in a stall and christina leaning against the sinks, patiently waiting.
it was completely silent after audrey flushed, still standing in the stall.
a few minutes passed, christina tapping her foot as she kept waiting for audrey to walk out.
"rey?" christina asked, "what's wrong?"
audrey slowly walked out, eyes puffy and red. the two lines confirmed it.
"it's positive."
