eight weeks later

"why is she coming here?" daniel asked, his eyes cold. "i don't want to see her."

"listen, idiot, i know you broke up with her, but she's still christina's friend and we all still love her. and her pasta. and her cookies. but we also love her," corbyn said, "it's just a party, okay? no one cares about the two of you anymore, it's been two months. and i mean that in the nicest way possible."

"damn, i hope she brings some pasta for us, though," zach said from his seat on jonah's couch.

jonah joined the guys, sitting on the floor. "what really matters is that we get through this night without any fighting," he said, shooting a look at daniel, who rolled his eyes. "just don't talk to her or whatever. and don't break my phone again."

"how the fuck am i not supposed to talk to her?" daniel said. "she's gonna be with christina the whole time."

"well, i mean, i'm pretty sure audrey isn't going to be with tina all night, if you get what i mean," corbyn said, a small smirk on his face as he shrugged. "so just avoid her."

"yes, what a great idea, just ignore my ex girlfriend who was the first person i really loved," daniel said, his voice dry. "and ew, i didn't want to know your plans with christina."

"we all know you still love her," zach said, "why else would you have written 'i still do' the week after you broke up?"

"i swear to god," daniel hissed, grabbing a book laying on the coffee table and throwing it at zach. "that song isn't about her."

jonah coughed. "sure it isn't."

"i'm literally going to beat every single one of you up," daniel threatened, getting up. "i'm going over to jack's, i hate you guys."

"why do i have to come?" audrey complained as she ran her straightener through her hair. "i don't want to see him."

christina sighed, pulling out a black minidress from her suitcase and holding it in front of her body. "just ignore him," she advised, looking at herself in the mirror. "or hook up with some other guy, like you've been doing every week since you both broke up."

"i have not been hooking up with guys every week, tina," audrey snapped, unplugging her straightener.

tina arched an eyebrow at her friend through the mirror. "fine, like every other week."

audrey rolled her eyes but didn't say anything.

"listen, just get drunk, ignore your ex-boyfriend, and have fun, it's a big house, you're not even gonna see him," christina said, trying to cheer up the girl. "you're gonna be fine, and if you do see him, just kiss the guy closest to you. unless he has a girlfriend. or a boyfriend. or-"

"yeah, i fucking get it, christina," audrey hissed. "this is going to be a motherfucking train wreck."

christina rolled her eyes. "you're going to be fine."

they both changed into what they were going to wear for the party, christina in the black minidress with her heels and audrey in a skin tight skirt with a black tube top.
