"can-can we turn around and go back?" audrey asked the driver, who scoffed but turned around.

audrey sighed, her fingers touching her lips slightly. "sorry about that."

the driver smiled. "i wasn't trying to be rude, i just knew that you were going to ask me, especially after all that."

"was it that obvious?"

"yeah, it really was, hon, that kiss was definitely... interesting."

audrey rolled her eyes, although a small laugh escaped her lips. "i don't know if i like him."

"so who's daniel?"

"um, my ex-boyfriend. we broke up a few months ago, and everyone that knows we dated thinks he still wants me back."

the driver whistled, laughing. "you're living a romance movie. or a fan fiction. good luck, hon."

"thanks."

they had arrived at noah's apartment, and audrey got out, thanking the driver before heading up the stairs to the third floor.

she arrived to noah's front door, slightly breathless.

wow, i really need to get in shape.

her knuckles tapped the wood, audrey moving from foot to foot as she tried to get rid of her nerves.

the door creaked open, noah staring at audrey wordlessly. he stepped back, letting audrey walk in.

"i-"

"you-" audrey said at the same time.

"sorry, you go first," noah said, letting out a breath as they both fell back on the big sofa.

"you can't do that, noah. i'm still getting over daniel and now you're kissing me. i don't know what to do. i don't know what i'm feeling."

noah slumped in his seat, his eyes facing the floor. "did you like it?"

"what?"

"did you feel anything when we kissed?" noah asked.

audrey hesitated for a second. did she feel anything? the tingle that daniel's lips left weren't there, the way daniel made her feel was incomparable to anything else.

"i don't know."

noah looked up at audrey, moving closer to audrey, both of them now face to face, noses almost touching.

it was silent, but then noah leaned forward, his lips once again touching audrey's.

the girl pulled back, shaking her head. "no."

noah sighed, running a hand through his lips. "so you don't like me?"

"do you?"

"i don't know."

audrey rolled her eyes, unsatisfied with his answer. "you're so annoying."
