The concert was later than usual, so it would fall on New Year's. Artemis didn't mind. Maybe it would help her get the guts to kiss Wally. A new year, a new start.

Song: Demons by Imagine Dragons

"When the days are cold and the cards all fold, and the saints we see are all made of gold. When your dreams all fail, and the ones we held are the worst of all, and the blood's run stale." Artemis sang.

I wanna hide the truth, I wanna shelter you. But with the beast inside, there's nowhere we can hide. No matter what we breed, we still are made of greed. This is my kingdom come. This is my kingdom come.

When you feel my heat, look into my eyes. It's where my demons hide. It's where my demons hide. Don't get too close. It's dark inside. It's where my demons hide. It's where my demons hide." Wally had proven to her that she could let someone get close- and he was the one she had written the song for.

"When the curtain call is the last of all, and the light fades out, all the sinners crawl. So they dug your grave and the masquerade will come calling out at the mess you made.

Don't wanna let you down, but I am hell bound. Oh this is all for you, don't wanna hide the truth. No matter what we breed we still are made of greed. This is my kingdom come. This is my kingdom come." All for you. She hadn't wanted him to think his crush was a pathetic pu-wimp. (Wally hated the vulgar use of the term, when wimp worked just as well. Wally was a bit of a feminist. It made Artemis laugh when he got mad at the sexual phrases that apparently "downplayed women" and when insults seemed a bit too "gender specific".) She also hadn't wanted to keep the abuse hidden from him, but she'd had to.

"When you feel my heat, look into my eyes. It's where my demons hide. It's where my demons hide. Don't get too close. It's dark inside. It's where my demons hide. It's where my demons hide.

They say it's what you make, I say it's up to fate. It's woven in my soul, I need to let you go. Your eyes, they shine so bright, I wanna save that light. I can't escape this now, unless you show me how." He had shown her how. And gods, was she lucky to have found a boy like him.

"When you feel my heat, look into my eyes. It's where my demons hide. It's where my demons hide. Don't get too close. It's dark inside. It's where my demons hide. It's where my demons hide." She finished the song and she walked across the stage to Wally. He laced his fingers in hers, so she stood hand in hand with Wally. "You know, that song is outdated," She said. "You showed me how."

Wally smiled at her. "And I'm so glad that I did, Babe." And as the bells chimed midnight, they kissed. Cheers and screams of joy filled the auditorium, but the new couple could barely hear them. The cheers didn't matter. The only thing that mattered was that they had each other, and that was enough.
