ARTY'S OUTFIT, YES THIS GIRL IS "ARTEMIS". HAIR (only blonder), NECKLACE, AND ALL. FOR CristinaSimion7. THANKS FOR BEING SUCH A LOYAL READER, I'M SO, SO SORRY THAT IT TOOK THIS LONG TO DEDICATE A CHAPTER TO YOU. BUT HERE IT IS, AND I HOPE YOU ENJOY.
Cam and Artemis walked to the building. Artemis and Young Justice were having an interview, and Cameron had been invited to come, too. Soon everything was set up, and Artemis was sitting at a table between Cam and Wally.
Wally grinned at her and squeezed her hand. The interview started. "So I'm going to ask you some questions that the fans sent us."
                              "Oh, boy," Wally said.
"First one," The woman, Mrs. Ramirez said, grabbing a letter from the basket and opening it. "Mallory wants to know why Artemis and Wally aren't dating when it's clear that they like each other."
Artemis facepalmed and Wally groaned. "I have a boyfriend," Artemis jerked her thumb towards Cam. "And we've been dating for three years, I doubt that we'll ever stop."
"I'm sure that your fans aren't happy to hear that. Ok, next question. Mason wants to know how Supermartian is going."
Conner and Megan laughed at their ship name. It started because Conner held an eerie resemblance to Kent Clark, AKA Superman in the DC universe and Megan adored Martian Manhunter. Hence, Supermartian was born.
"We're doing great!" Megan said happily. Conner smiled at her. Artemis looked jealously at the redhead and the ebony. She and Cam had been like that before she tried to break up with him. After that, it all went to hades.
"I'm sure that your many fans are stoked to hear that! Ok, next. Taylor wants to know: do Dick or Kaldur have any love interests?"
The boys went red. "N-no," Dick stuttered.
"Oh, but that's not exactly true, is it?" Artemis asked, her eyes twinkling mischievously. "Don't even try to pretend that you don't like Zatanna." Zatanna Zatara was Artemis' best friend. Dick had a major crush on her. Good thing for him, the feelings were mutual. "And you, Kaldur! You had that thing for Tula, but you've gotten over it, and you are certainly making goo-goo eyes at my friend Raquel." Raquel Ervin was Artemis' other best friend (Artemis had three of them, the other was Bette Kane.) All three girls were also on the tour, they just hadn't hung out much with the Young Justice crew.
"Ooh, so there are love interests! Ok, Virginia wants to know if they are any behind-the-scenes romances with the backstage crew."
"There is is one, actually," Dick said, happy to get the spotlight of off him. "Our friend Roy is dating Artemis' older sister. They're 18 and 19, and they recently found out that they are expecting a baby girl!"
"Oh, that's so sweet! I'm sure the media will be abuzz when that baby is born!"
"She'll be here soon, you've only gotta wait four months!"
"Well, I am delighted to hear that!" As the woman spoke, Cam slid his hand under Arty's skirt. Artemis flinched a little and smacked him over her skirt. He was lucky that there was a tablecloth, or else he'd have gotten some looks.
"Ok, Maci would like to know how Frostbite is." Frostbite was the ship name for Artemis and Cameron. Frost, because Cam was an icy guy, and bite, because, well, Artemis.
"I'd say we're doing great," Cam said, trailing his fingers along her underwear. She shuddered. No one questioned it, assuming that she was just cold. "What about you, Babe."
Artemis gave a weak smile. She hated having to lie in front of heaven only knows how many people. "We're doing fine!"
The lady went back to asking questions, but Artemis could barely hear her. She felt like she was underwater, her head stuffed with cotton as Cam had the gall to put his hand in her underwear. She froze up. She didn't know what to do. She hated it, but if she told him to get off of her, it would attract attention. She also wasn't sure if she had the strength to pull his hand out if he didn't want her to. She decided to push his hand, giving her head a small shake, like she was saying 'not now'. Cam rolled his eyes, but removed his hand, which Artemis considered a victory.
"Ok, Maggie would like to know how Artemis deals with her anxiety."
"Oh," Artemis said. She took a deep breath. "Deep breathing really helps me. So does thinking about relaxing things. Telling myself that it doesn't matter if I mess up, that there's nothing to worry about. Using a schedule. Repetition is great."
"Well, there you go, Maggie." The woman (A/N Ok, her name will be Lavender, I'm getting sick of typing "the woman".)
"Ok, Harrison wants to know what each of your favorite Marvel superheroes are, and why."
"Quick Silver," Wally said. "I'd love to have superspeed."
"If I had to choose, no ties or anything, I guess Hawkeye," Artemis said. "He's a lot like me. 'Sarcastic and loves archery' can summarize us both."
                              That got a laugh.
"Kylie wants to know if any of you are keeping secrets."
                              Everyone replied yes.
"Wow, that's a lot of secret keeping. That's it for today, folks! Hope you liked our special guests!"
                              "Cut!" A cameramen yelled.
Artemis and Cam went and ate dinner with the Wests. Willow would not shut up; she just kept talking and talking and talking. Artemis was snuggled against Cam, but she and Wally kept sneaking glances across the table.
After, she and Wally took a walk together, they found a garden, and they walked around it like they had in London, except this time they were holding hands. Cam would kill her if he saw that, but she didn't care. It was just her and Wally, ready to take on the world, one step at a time.
Step one, two, and three were accomplished. There was still step four: telling Wally about Cam and her dad. She wasn't ready yet. It was November now, so she decided to tell him in just a couple months, in January. Little did she know that the universe would force that day to come a few weeks earlier than planned.
