"Black Leader, go to sub-lights on your call."

"Roger base. Red Squad, Blue Squad, take my lead."

Following the orders, Ly'ra disarmed the Light Speed of her X-Wing, the corridor of long lines of lights turning back into the Galaxy and the Starkiller base appearing in front of the Resistance ships. An important silence had reigned during the flight to the planet amongst Poe's Squad and the young woman's mercenaries. They all knew that the risks linked to this attack were real. It wasn't just a simple recognition mission this time, they were attacking a base with a planet size to save the Resistance. All they had was hope.

The ships overflew the base, Dameron on the lead with his men and Ly'ra, slightly on his right, her mercenaries right behind her. The lovers shared a quick glance and Poe nodded, a move the young woman took back, before the pilot gave his orders.

"Almost on range. Hit the target dead center. As many runs as we can get."

"Approaching target."

Ly'ra armed her shields and her ship's wings took the famous form of an X.

"Should I say that we have very few chances to reach it?"

"Shut up Bango, get ready to fire."

The oscillator was on sight, the ships's canons were ready to fire. Poe took a deep breath and gave the order everyone was waiting for.

"Alright. Let's light it up!"

All the pilots followed the move started by Dameron and Ly'ra and they all shot. The oscillator was hit several times, provoking several explosions, but unfortunately, just in surface. The young woman sighed and Dante, probably feeling her frustration, let out a joke in her comlink.

"Just to reassure me, you wasn't really hoping that it would work with the first attack?"

"Let's say that I was hoping I could go back early, have a good and hot shower while enjoying a galactic fireworks..."

The young woman heard Jay and Snap trying to hold back a laugh and she couldn't help but smile before hearing other pilots made their own comments about the missed attack.

"Ah direct hits."

"But no damages..."

"Yeah we gotta keep hitting it. Another bombing run."

Ly'ra made an about-turn with her ship, adjusting her trajectory with Poe's who kept on:

"Remember, when the Sun is gone, that weapon will be ready to fire, but as long as there's light, we got a chance!"

A light sight escaped the young woman's lips, before she held back a cuss when she noticed several TIE Fighters coming their way.

"POE!"

BB8 had noticed them too and nervously beeped to warn the pilot.

"Guys, we got a lot of company!"

The First Order attacked and the Resistants were quickly overwhelmed by their numbers. They couldn't attack the oscillator and try to defend themselves against the Fighters in the same time. They were losing a precious time, without talking about the fact that the X-Wings were being destroyed one after another.

"Dammit, he won't let me go!"

Dameron couldn't lose a TIE that was sticked right behind him. He was trying every turns and twirls he knew, the Fighter was still on his tail. Suddenly, he heard Ly'ra's voice in his comlink.

"Keep flying right in front of you and take off only when I tell you!"

"Ly'ra? What's your plan?"
