Chapter 26

{Cody's pov}

"You're going to have to take her to a doctor to make sure everything is ok." the Detective stated

"Alright we will do that today." I said as I lifted Emily higher up on my hip

We made are way back to the car,I put Emily in her car seat,and started dialing the doctors office to make a appointment for her.

"Doctors office."

"I would like to make a appointment for my daughter Emily."

"What date would you like and time?"

"Today at 2?"

"Okay we will see you later today."

"Thanks,bye."

"She has a doctors appointment today at 2." I Said to Nicole

"Perfect."

I started the car and drove home.

When we arrived home we saw cars parked in the driveway,knowing that Nicole's mom was here and my family came back.

"Welcome home Emily!" they all shouted when we walked in. Emily just smiled that cute smile she always does.

"Dad can you take her and please don't let us forget her doctors appointment today at 2."

"Will do,now you and Nicole should go talk."

I handed Emily off to him and took Nicole's hand and led her outside on are patio.

"You okay?" Nicole said in a whisper

"I'm just fine, we found are beautiful daughter and I got you."

"You know what Cody?"

"What?..."

"Your the best thing that has ever happened to me." She said as she began to cry

"Aww,button why are you crying?"

"Tears of joy." she said beginning to laugh

"I love you Nicole, you are my one true love." I said as I kissed her forehead

We got interrupted by my mom walking out with a crying Emily.

"I don't know what wrong." she said as she handed her to Nicole

"Come here baby girl." Nicole said as she brought Emily to her hip

"I was trying to put her down for a nap" my mom stated

"Her blanket!" I shouted

"She can't sleep without it."

"Would it be bad if we went back and got it from the scene?" Nicole said as she tilted her head to the side thinking about what she just said

"Shoot her doctors appointment!" I said as I looked down at my watch seeing it was 1:45.

"Let's go."

Nicole opened the back door and put her Emily in her car seat she finally stopped crying. Once Nicole was finished with that she ran up to the front seat.

We arrived at the doctors office and the first thing we did was go to the front desk and confirm are appointment with the lady. After we did that we waited in the waiting room for about 10 minutes.

"Emily Calaforie?"

"That's us." I said as I stood up

"Okay,follow me back here."

We followed we back into her room when we got there we took her out of her carrier and gave her to the doctor.

"And how long was she missing for?"

"3 days." Nicole said flatly

She examined Emily for 10 minutes.

"You have a beautiful healthy young little girl here." She said as she handed her over to me.

"Thank you so much."

"No problem, now just go to the front desk and sign out."

"Thanks again."

Once we were signed out we were going to drive back to the bridge to get her blanket.

We arrived at the bridge which was bringing a lot of bad memories back that we didn't want to think about ever again.

"Let's just walk down here,get the blanket and go." Nicole said

We had Emily in her carrier so it wouldn't be hard holding her and walking down a bunch of rocks. It was about a 20 minute walk down.

We reached where we a red thinking they would clean up her body but they didn't,they left everything just how it was when she jumped. She was holding Emily's blanket making us think she was in there. 'why would she do that?' I thought to myself

I stepped around Christine's body and when I did I saw her body go up like she just took a breath.

"Oh my god." I mumbled

"What?" Nicole whispered

"She's not dead." I whispered back

Once I said that Nicole turned around walked away from her body and stopped.

"How,this happened yesterday and that bridge is high up from here." she said tears pouring out her eyes.

"I'm calling the cops."
