Chapter 22

{Nicole's pov}

The cops arrived they got out of there cars and ran up to me.

"Ma'am,can you tell us what's wrong?"

"My daughter is GONE!" I yelled

"How long ago did this happen?"

"10 minutes ago."

"Go look around the outside of the house and the inside." the cop told his colleagues

"I'm Detective Hail, I'm gonna have to ask you some questions."

"Why you think I did this?"

"No I need to know what all happened."

"I was going to take a walk to get some fresh air after fighting with my husband and-" he cut me off

"Why were you and your husband fighting?"

"Because he was called back into work."

"Okay go on."

"Then I grabbed Emily and put her in her stroller and started to walk out the door then I realized I forgot my phone so I walked back to get it leaving Emily by the door ."

"Did you leave the door open?"

"Yes but the screen door was shut."

"I was only in the dinging room for 2 minutes because I hit the table and the milk dropped off and spilled, when I got it cleaned up I grabbed what I needed and walked back and she was gone I looked everywhere ."

After I finished talking to him I had to call Cody. I dialed his number and the phone rang

"Hello?"

"Cody, Emily is gone you need I come home now."

"What do you mean gone?"

"Like someone took her I just ran to the dining room to grab my phone I wasn't in there long."

"I'm coming."

5 minutes later I saw Cody's car pull up. I ran up to him and gave him a hug.

"Cody I'm so sorry."

"No button I'm sorry."

"What's going on?"

"I wasn't gone long." I said while crying

"We will find her, I know we will." he said trying to hold back the tear

{Cody's pov}

After I finished talking to Nicole I ran inside to talk to the detective.

"What have you found?"

"And who are you?"

"I'm Emily's father."

"I'm Detective Hail." he said shaking my hand

"I'm Cody Calaforie." I said shaking his hand back

"We have found no finger prints on the door or on the stroller so this mean this person was wearing gloves. We don't have any leads yet but we will find your daughter."

The clock hit 10:30 so all the cops left. I took Nicole's hand an we walked up to are bedroom. All I could think about was Emily in some creepers house crying because she misses us, she's only 10 months.

I finally feel asleep at 11:25 I was sleeping good until I heard a loud bang. I got up right away to realize it was are window shade hitting against the window sill. I rolled over I find Nicole not in bed.

I got out of bed and into the hallway to find her sobbing in Emily's too holding her favorite stuffed animal.

I walked in and sat next to her on the ground.

"We're going to find her."

"I can't sleep knowing she is not safe." Nicole stated

"I can't either."

She rested her head on my shoulder and she fell asleep, then I did about 5 minutes later.

I woke up to knocking I got up and figured out we fell asleep in Emily's room. I walked out of the room and down the stairs. I opened up the door and saw Detective Hail.

"Detective Hail, come in."

"Good morning Mr.Calaforie."

"Please call me Cody." I said as I motioned him into the kitchen

We sat down in the kitchen, I was making coffee for the detective and right when he was about to start talking his phone rang.

He answered and his facial expressions made him look shocked about something. he said bye and hung up the phone.

"They found a babies body."
