Chapter 27

{Nicole's pov}

"I'm calling the cops Cody." I said as I pulled out my phone and dialed 911

"911, what's your emergency?"

"Detective Hail please."

"Sure."

A couple of minutes later

"This is Detective Hail."

"Its Nicole,Christine is still alive. we came down to get Emily's blanket and saw her breathing, we are by were she tried to kill herself."

"I'll be there in a minute."

I hung up the phone and slipped back in my pocket.

"Detective Hail is coming."

"Good, I can't believe she is still alive." After he said that Emily started crying

"I think Emily wants her daddy." Cody said as he walked over to us. As he walked right past Christine her hand moved.

I screamed.

"Cody!" I said pointing, he turned around immediately

"What?"

"Her hand moved."

"I'm out of here." I said picking up Emily in her carrier

"I will meet you back at home, I'll get Detective Hail to drive me back." I heard him shout

When we arrived home it was 1:30. I put Emily in her chair and cut up bananas for her to eat. Once she was down with done eating it was nap time.

"Okay baby girl it's nap time." I said as I looked at her. she gave me back a blank look.

I picked her up and walked up stairs. I put her in her crib gave her a kiss and started to walk out. Then I heard Emily say something.

"Da-da?"

"Ahh,your first words." I said as I clapped my hands. she smiled.

"Good job, maybe when we wake up we can have Oreos?" Her eyes grew big when Oreos came out of my mouth.

After that I walked shut the door and started down stairs. When I got down I saw the doorknob turning, it was Cody.

"Your home."

"Yeah,they took her to the hospital."

I sat down on he couch and motioned Cody to sit down next to me. He did.

"What's wrong Button?"

"I'm afraid they are going to take are baby girl again."

"I'm not going I let that happen, I'm going to protect you two."

"I know." I said as I tear rolled down my face

"Anything new while I was gone."

I brought my head up.

"Yes Emily said dada today."

"Her first words, is she napping?"

"Yes."

{Cody's pov}

After I finished talking to Nicole I went to the bathroom. I just looked at myself in the mirror. I was thinking about what I saw today.

I saw cars just passing by at the normal speed, that nothing unusual. But then I saw a car go bye really slowly like it was trying to see who was next to her body, which was me.
