Chapter 21

{Nicole's pov}

I put Emily to bed kissed her goodnight and walked out of her room with the baby monitor in hand. After I walked out I saw Cody walk in.

I laid down in bed and dozed off after 2 minutes of laying there. I woke up to screaming coming from the baby monitor I hit Cody in the back telling him to get up, but he didn't.

I got up from bed and went in to her room to calm her down it took me about 10 minutes just to put her back to sleep.

I woke up in the morning to Cody in hallway carrying Emily and talking to her. I stretched,then yawned and Cody came in.

"Good morning beautiful."

"Good morning."

"Say good morning to mommy." he said as he set Emily down in my bed.

I picked her up and looked at Cody.

"I have the day off today and I'm spending it just with my beautiful wife and beautiful daughter."

"Well that sounds wonderful." I said as I kissed him.

I got dressed for the day then I had to get Emily dressed, Cody would not know what to put on her.

I picked up Emily and. began to walk downstairs. It was 12:15 so Cody had a really nice lunch made.

"What is this?"

"Well,you're always cooking breakfast,lunch,and dinner so I thought I would give it a shot."

"This looks amazing." I said as I began to sit Emily down in her chair

We both sat down at the table and began to put food on are plates. Then Cody's phone rang.

"Just a minute." he said to me. I sighed knowing that he would probably have to go into work.

He was on the phone for about 5 minutes. he came back into the dining room...

"I'm so sorry baby, I have to go into work."

"Of course you do I'm not surprised."

"Now your mad?"

"Yeah,you are always at work you have no time for me or your daughter."

"I try to make time I'm just always busy."

"Just leave to go to work already!" I shouted

He grabbed his coat and walked out. I didn't think that I would be mad but I am really mad. I need to get some fresh air.

"Does Emily want to go on a walk with mama?" I said

She just smiled that cute smile she always does. I put Emily in her stroller and started to open the door then I realized I forgot my phone so I walked back into the dining room leaving the front door open but the screen door closed.

As I walked into the dining room I spotted my phone as I walked to get it I hit my hip on the table and knocked the glass of milk of the table not breaking the glass thank god. I got paper towels and cleaned it up. I looked at my hip and it was red. I got my phone and walked back to the front door.

I looked in the stroller and... Emily was gone.

"Emily?" I shouted

I looked at her stroller and told myself 'there's no way she could have unbuckled herself.' I then turned slowly and saw the screen door was open.

I ran out screaming Emily's name, I ran around the house screaming and crying. I then pulled out my phone and dialed 911

"911,whats your emergency?"

"My daughter she's gone."

"What's your address?"

"133 wood drive."

"I wasn't gone that long!" I shouted into the phone
