•Part Twelve

Rueben walked up to us, "I'm so glad you made it!" He said walking up to us.

"I need a drink." Bear said as soon as Rueben walked over.

Rueben looked at me, "he still needs time, he's trying, honestly." I explained to Rueben.

around 9pm I was talking to Rueben, all night Rueben was introducing me and axel to everyone.

"Everyone's been telling me all night how much we look like eachother. It's mostly the eyes." Rueben said to axel and I.

"Yeah, me too. And everyone keeps pointing out my eyes, the fact I have one green and one blue," I said.

"Oh my god, I can't imagine what it'd be like to have one blue eye and one green eye, what's it like?" Bear joked, having the same condition I have, it's called heterochromia it pretty much just means our eyes are different colours from eachother, and it looks kinda cool.

My eyes are one blue and the other one is half green, bears is the same but his green eye is edging towards brown whereas mines is a very bright green.

Danny and I went outside, we had a soccer ball in the car so we started throwing it about.

"I heard that's Rueben Crilley's kids, funny how he's never mentioned them before and then all of a sudden they're everywhere." I heard someone say.

"Ruby just ignore them." Danny said.

Danny's POV

"Hey baby sis you're forgetting who taught you this." I joked as she tried to trick me.

"Hey it was worth a try." She smirked.

"You remind me so much of Jess when you smile." I said, she stopped for a second.

"You're the first person to mention Jess in a long time, it's good to hear her name." She smiled, we put the ball away and started walking.

"The last time I've spoke about her was to bear on the first day back at school." She said.

"I miss her. A lot." I said, "we all do. It's just not the same anymore,  it always feels like there's something missing, like somethings not right anymore." She said.

Ruby took Jess' death a lot worse than any of us, she doesn't talk about how much it has affected her, but I can tell.

Suddenly the energy changed.

I looked over at ruby and she had a terrified look on her face. I looked at where she was looking and saw a silhouette of someone from the woods that surrounded the garden.

"D-Danny. Go g-get bear. Now!" She said, "wait what? What's wrong?!" I asked in a panicked voice, "just go! Now!" She shouted panicked.

I quickly ran inside.

I searched the bottom floor and couldn't find him.

"Have you seen my brother?" I asked in a panicked tone to someone, they shook their head.

I bumped into Isaac, "go outside and get ruby, now!" I said to Isaac before running up the stairs.

I saw bear, "Bear! Bear!" I shouted, "what? What's wrong? Wheres ruby?!" He asked, "outside, she saw someone and shouted to get you!" I told him, "what and you just left her there?! Are you that fucking stupid?!" He shouted at me as we ran outside.

"Wheres ruby?!" Bear asked Isaac as we got outside, "I- I don't know, I can't find her anywhere." Isaac said.

"Fuck!" Bear said putting his hands to his head, "Danny, call the police and tell Rueben. I'm gonna go look for her." Bear said as he ran off towards the woods to look for her.

Bear's POV

"Ruby?! Ruby!" I yelled as I searched for her, I have a horrible gut feeling right now.

Half an hour later

"Bear!" I heard Isaac shout, "what? Did you find her?" I asked, "No, the police are putting out a search party. Danny's hyperventilating and Axels out here somewhere searching for her. We'll find her." Isaac said, I could hear him trying to hide the panic in his voice.

"They're putting out a search party? They don't just do that when someone's went missing for half an hour. Are you sure that's what they said?" Rueben asked.

"Thats what I got told." Isaac said.

"No that sounds about right, considering what's happened to her before she's probably priority." I said.

A Few Hours Later

Danny's POV

I'm not sure where Bear is just now, but Axel, Isaac and I are talking to the police right now, and Rueben had to close up for the charity event, and now everyone's searching for ruby, I have no clue what happened to her.

I can't believe I just left her there, this is all my fault.
