Part Twenty-Two

Ruby's POV

It's been 10 hours since I've been answering questions at the precinct, "Can we go home now? I just want to take her home and get her settled." Bear asked.

"I understand, detective Holt, but this needs to be done." The other detective replied, then Bear shot him a look that pretty much said I could get you fired in so many ways you probably haven't even heard of any one them.

"Miss Holt, we'll continue this another day, if you remember anything, anything at all about your kidnapper, you call us right away, okay?" He asked, I nodded.

"I just want to go home." I said in a soft voice.

Bear led me out of the precinct and to his car, "Honey, I'm sorry you had to do all that, it's just protocol." He explained, "it's okay." I replied.

We drove home, by this time Isaac was gone, Danny and Axel we're asleep, and Dominic and Santiago were asleep on the floor in Bear's room, I walked into the house, I almost felt lost, like I didn't know what to do now, bear walked into the living room and sat on the couch, I followed.

He put his elbows on his knees, resting his head in his hand.

"So, what now?" I asked, "I don't know, Honey, I honestly have no clue." He said with pain in his voice.

We stayed silent for a second, when suddenly I heard sniffles.

He was crying, he walked over to the other side of the living room and just sat down and leaned against the wall, I walked over to him, i kneeled I front of him and just hugged him, he cuddled into my arm and just started sobbing, gripping onto my arm.

"I'm so sorry, I couldn't save you from that place, I'm sorry I couldn't get you out of there sooner, I'm so sorry." He cried, "Hey... bear, you are the only reason I survived in that place, if I didn't have you in there with me I probably would have taken that piece of glass you used on my leg to my wrists, you were the only reason I held on." I said, "I know but... I should have been able to get us out of there, instead I was too weak." He said.

"Don't say that, there was no way we could have got out of that place, there were too many locks on every door, you done everything you could." I said, he never said anything after that.

The next morning.

I woke up on my bed, I don't remember going to bed though, I looked around my room and smiled slightly at the fact I'm home.

I walked downstairs to find Dominic, Santiago, and Bear all watching TV, there was barely any space on the couch, so I sat on Santiago then squeezed him out of the way, just to be a pain.

"How did I get to bed last night?" I asked, "Danny came down for a drink and he carried you back up with him." Bear said.

"Oh, Okee dokee." I smiled, I got up and went to the kitten, which was joint to the living room so i was still able to talk to them, "Bear, can I go into my bank and take money for a new phone?" I asked, I have a bank set up for when I'm 18 but I kind of need some of it just now since I don't have a phone.

"No, I'll buy you a new phone when I finish work." He smiled, "thank you." I replied, "Anyway, I'm gonna go to Isaac's, Love ya!" I said, knowing I was about to get about to get stopped so I was trying to rush out the door, "oh, no ya don't! I love you too but you're not going anywhere." Bear said picking me up and sitting me on the counter in the kitchen.

"But I can't get a hold of him to ask him to come see me because I don't have a phone" I snapped, "Yeah, well that's too bad, you'll just have to deal until I come home" he said, "Wait, you're not leaving me with them, are you?" I asked quieter, "Yeah, but Danny and Axel will be back in like an hour, they're just away to pick up some groceries." he explained, "Bear, please don't go yet, just wait until they get back, please." I said, "Honey, you'll be okay." he said in a soft tone.
