I've been in the hospital for about 2 weeks now, my surgery went wrong and I started throwing up blood, but thankfully they went back in and fixed it.
I'm in so much pain from where they cut into me though, every time I cough or anything it's agony.
"Hey, Angel. How you feeling?" Isaac asked as I woke up, he ran a hand through my hair, "I'm okay, just a little sore." I said, I tried sitting up and winced in pain, "here, let me help you." Isaac said, ever since I've been in hospital Isaac's been so wary around me like I'm going to break at the slightest touch "it's okay, I can do it myself." I smiled pushing myself up.
"I'm doing it again, aren't I?" Isaac laughed, "yeah, I'm okay Isaac, yeah it's great how much you're helping but I promise you I'm okay, I'm doing better." I smiled, "I know, I'm sorry." He said.
The nurse walked in, "Great need, Ruby! You're getting out today." She smiled, "you just need to wait on some meds coming in and you can be on your way." She followed, she then explained some stuff to me then left.
"This is great Hailey! You finally get to go be in the comfort of your own home." Isaac smiled, Hailey is something he started calling me about a week ago, he asked if I had an alter ego what would her name be and that's what I said, now that's all he calls me. Either that or Angel.
I love how happy he gets now, he's still grumpy a lot but he gets these little cute moments and it's great.
A few hours later
Bear came and picked me up and now we're on our way home, Isaac had to go to his house because he got a call saying someone's complaining about his bike being there.
When we got home Bear helped me into the living room, my ankle still kills, she said it could take up to 9 months to heal.
I sat down on the couch and bear sat down beside me, "welcome home." He smiled, "I would say the same for you but you're about to leave." I laughed, "Axel is staying at a friends house tonight, you gonna be okay here yourself?" He asked, "yeah, ill fine don't worry about me." I reassured him.
About 20 minutes later Chris was upstairs getting ready to leave, I got a text from Isaac.

"I'm just about to head to work, do you need anything before I leave?" He asked, "can you leave me your keys? Axel has mine it's just incase I want to go out" I asked, "if you go out, phone me or text me exactly where you are going." He said in a stern voice, "Yes, sir." I said as I saluted, "I'm serious, as long as Jay's still out there, I'm keeping tabs on you, and you never go out alone, understand? It's too risky. I'm not losing you." He said in the same tone.
I stood up with struggle, he walked over to me, "I'm not losing you, okay? Ever since you were 4 I've been the only person to take care of you, hell I even learned how to braid your hair for you every day up until you were 13 when you suddenly got 'too mature' to wear your hair like that. I will do anything to keep you safe." He said ruffling my hair, "I know, Bear. And don't worry, you've always made sure I know that." I smiled, "what times Isaac coming over?" Bear asked.
"Should be here soon, he just got out of school." I replied, "okay, well I gotta head, but I'll see you tonight if you're still up when I get in." He said ruffling my hair as he dropped his keys on the coffee table and started walking out the door, "Love you, bye." He said as he walked out the door, "be safe." I replied.
About half an hour later Isaac turned up, "hey." He says dropping himself down beside me on the couch, "what're we watching?" He asked, "whatever you want, this is boring." I said as I handed him the remote, "Wow, Ruby Nirvana Holt actually gives someone else the remote? I am in shock." He joked.
"Fine, I'll just take it back." I say reaching for the remote, "fine, come and get it." He said holding it up in the air, knowing fine well I can't reach, "just put something on tv." I laughed, he smiled at me.
We started watching some cop show, after a few episodes though we got bored and just put music on the tv instead.
I ended up lying down on the couch and resting my head on Isaac's lap while he both sat on our phones.
"You have bags under your eyes." Isaac said looking down at me, rubbing his thumb under my eye, "thanks." I replied sarcastically, "I haven't slept in 3 days, what do you expect?" I asked.
"How come?" He asked, "I don't even know, just whenever I try and fall asleep it doesn't work." I replied, he looked at me and gave a small smile.
"I just keep worrying that, if I fall asleep, I can't protect myself. Knowing Jay is still out there, it terrifies me." I explained.
Being around Isaac is the only time I feel truly safe like nothing can ever hurt me.
"Close your eyes." He said, I done as he said.
I heard his phone screen turn off and he put his phone down, taking mine from my hands too and placing them on the coffee table.
Isaac's POV
I put our phones down and grabbed the blanket that was next to me and covered Ruby with it, I could see how tired she's been since the second I got here.
She closed her eyes and I started stroking her hair, after about 10 minutes I could tell with her breathing she had fell asleep.
To avoid waking her I put my earphones in and just watched stuff on my phone incase the tv is too loud.
I got a text from Chris asking if I mind staying with her until he gets back from work, I just told him that's fine.
A few hours later
About 11pm bear came home, "Where's Ruby?" He asked, "I took her up to her bed she fell asleep." I replied, "is she okay?" He followed, "Yeah." I replied.
