Daniel's POV

I sat in Grace's kitchen with a hot cup of coffee in my hand. It was already past 2 so I knew that Emily's appointment was over. I was just being a procrastinater. I didn't want to face the consequences that awaited me at home. Was she going to leave me? I have no clue but I sure hope not. Emily and that baby, our baby, are my world. What I'm doing with Grace that's...its not right and I know it. I have to fix this and make things right. So was she going to leave? I guess there is only one way to find out. I gulped down the rest of my coffee and stood up. I crashed at Grace's place last night and called in a sick day. She was at work so I left the house without a second thought.

I washed my cup and grabbed my sports jacket. I slid my arms in, grabbed my keys and went home.

The whole way I kept hoping that Ems would not leave me. She did have the right to though. It was my fault. Her leaving would just be a side effect of my actions.

Emily's POV

On my way home I stopped at a pharmacy to pick up my prescription. I parked the car, grabbed my purse and went inside.

Once inside I took off my sun glasses and started looking for the pick up place. I found it in a far back corner directly under a sign that said "Pick-Up." Easy enough. So I walked over to it.

"Hi. How can I help you today?" the young pharmacist asked.

"I'm here to pick up my prescription."

"Oh, of course. I will need your name and birth date."

"Emily Thorne. 6-12-86."

"Ok thank you. Just one moment." he typed in the information and found me listed among others. "Ok, just prednisone for you today?"

"Yes, thank you."

"Okey-dokey just wait one moment and I'll get it."

"Ok." he walked into the back. About a minute later he came back with a bottle and a paper bag. "Alright. So I am to tell you the side effects of the medication. Do you have time?"

I glance at my watch. "Umm...yup."

"Now pay close attention." he laughs. "It's a very long list but it is importan to know them. There is a paper that comes in the bag I'm about to give you with the same list of side effects I'm about to tell you but I am required as a pharmacist to tell you them. Ok, so side effects include headaches which can vary from mild to very painful, dizziness, difficulty with sleeping patterns, changes in mood, slow healing of cuts, extreme tiredness, weak muscles, and last but not least irregular menstrual periods, which shouldn't be a problem with your condition." he gestures at my growing stomach. "But there is also a list of side effects that can be very serious. And if any of these, that I'm about to tell you, continue you need consult your doctor. Serious side effects include vision problems, eye pain along with redness or tearing, sore throat accompanied by chills, fever, or a dry cough, seizures, depression, confusion, loss of reailty such as what people term as 'craziness', muscle twitching, uncontrolable shaking of hands, upset stomach, vomiting, lightheadedness, irregular heartbeats, shortness of breath, especially during sleeping when your body calms itself, difficulty breathing or swallowing, a rash, hives and itchiness. So there's the long list. Now these symptoms can occur sometimes and that is 'normal' but if they continue for over 3 days then you should go in to the doctors. Any questions?"

I stood there trying to remember everything he just told me. "Umm..." I thought for a moment. "No. Thank you."

He stuffed the medicine and papers into the bag and handed it to me. "Thank you." I grab the bag and walk out.
