Emily woke up the next morning to the sound of coffee brewing downstairs. She rolled over to face the clock on her bedside table. 10:31. Ems shot straight up. She couldn’t believe that she had slept that long. She went to bed so early and woke up so late. As soon as Emily sat up she felt pain shoot through her body; from her head to her toes. Then everything came rushing back. Things like why she slept so late and why she was aching all over. She took a moment to adjust to the pain. On a scale of 1 through 10 her pain was probably a seven and a half. She swiped the covers off her and gently moved her feet from the warm bed to the cold, hard ground. She stood and walked over to the chair in the corner and grabbed her robe. She didn’t slip her arms through the sleeves because she was too sore, so instead she just let the robe drape over her shoulders.

As she made her way downstairs she saw Daniel sitting in the living room with his laptop on the table and his hands clasped together resting just below his chin. The last stair, as usual, creaked when she put her weight on it. The small sound was large enough to break the silence; and Daniel's thoughts. He turned to see her take the last step off the stairs. Daniel stood and shuffled over to her, his house slippers scraping the floor with every step.

"Hey, babe. How was your night?" he hugged Emily and kissed her lightly.

Emily sighed. "Well it was good. Until I woke up…because then I started feeling the pain again." She rubbed her aching back and walked to the living room. Daniel followed her and the two of them sat down together on the couch.

"Do you want me to massage it for you? It'll help." Emily just nodded and lied her head down on Daniel's lap. Daniel stroked her face and pushed back her hair. "I love you Emily Grayson." And he kissed her on the cheek. Emily turned her head so she was looking Daniel in the eyes.

"You know I'm not a Grayson yet? Right?" She smirked.

"I know, I know. But hey," his eyes literally twinkled in the morning sun, "you're not second guessing on changing your name, right?"

She quickly sat up. "Of course not!" following those words was a wince. Emily teared up at the pain that shot down her back from the sudden move she made.

"Shh, sh baby. Its ok." He scooted over to sit closer to her.

"I know but it just hurts really, really bad Daniel. You don’t understand." Her voice sounded so small and meek.

"Your right. I don’t understand. But let me massage your back so you'll feel better." He stood up and let Emily stretch out on the couch. She had to lie on her side because her belly was too big to lie on and she didn’t want to "smash" the baby. Daniel got on his knees and pulled off her robe. He lifted her shirt up to reveal the small of her back. He gently put pressure on her back and began to massage.

After a twenty minute massage Emily sat up and pulled down her shirt. She sighed with relief. "Ah, thank you Daniel. That feels a whole lot better." She shrugged her robe back on to ward off the chill in the air.

"I'll make us some breakfast and then maybe we can take a drive or go do something?" Daniel said.

"Breakfast? You do know that its almost eleven right?" Emily stated.

"Fine I will make us both some brunch then. But what do you want to do afterwards?" He got up and walked into the kitchen.

"Hmm…what about we go watch a movie? Something that won't require to much movement. Though your massage was great I'm still a little sore."

"Perfectly fine with me. What kind of movies are out? I haven't really been keeping up with that sort of thing." Daniel said loudly from the kitchen so he could be heard.

"Hmm, let's see." Emily came up from behind and wrapped her arms around Daniel's waste and rested her chin on his shoulder. Daniel just smiled. He had a perfect life. The life that most people just dreamed of living and here he was with the most beautiful, perfect wife and a child on the way living that exact dream. "Well there's a new Left Behind movie that Nicolas Cage stars in. What about that one?" Daniel just thought about it but didn't reply. Emily moved to the side of Daniel so she could look him in the face. "Well our movie date also depends on the mood you're in. Do you want a chick-flick, action, or romance? What do you feel like watching?"

Daniel closed his eyes to over dramatize thinking. "I saay," he dragged out the word. "I saay…romance."

"Oo! Good one. Well there is a lot of talk about this movie called, The Fault In Our Stars. It's based off a book. I've never read the book but Charlotte claims its really good. As she said, I quote, 'It's such an epic love story, its to die for.'" Emily smiled.

"Well, then the fault in…the stars?"

"Close enough. It's The Fault In Our Stars."

"Ah, yes. Well then The Fault In Our Stars it is. But after we get you and the baby fed and full of bacon, eggs and pancakes." Daniel always made pancakes for Emily. It was her favorite thing and according to Emily, Daniel was the pancake maker king.

After The Movie

Emily and Daniel walked out of the theater. Emily's nose was bright red and her eyes puffy. Daniel wasn't too bad but his eyes were red and puffy as well.

"I can't believe you made me watch that. My hormones are already whack but that movie…Daniel I was a puddle!" Emily pulled out her glasses and covered her eyes.

"Oh, ya how can you blame that," he pointed to the theater doors. "on me? That movie was definitely your idea. And as far as the hormones what's my excuse? I'm not pregnant but I cried like a baby on those last scenes!" They both laughed because they both knew that was too true.

"So are we homeward bound, Mrs. Thorne?"

"Oui, oui." She answered. Still in pain, Emily walked slowly to their parked car as Daniel opened her door for her.

The car ride home was full of talk about the movie. Both the funny parts and the sad ones that made them cry on each others shoulders. The ride was also full of music and singing. Daniel and Emily found the oldies station on the radio and sung to their hearts contentment. Songs by Richard Marx and Nat King Cole were played and sung along to.

When they pulled up to the house Daniel turned off the car and they both got out, continuing to sing 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight.' All the way into their house they belted out the chorus:

Can you feel the love tonight,

      It is where we are!

Oh its enough for this bright eyed wonderer

      That we got this far.

Can you feel the love tonight!

They took off their light coats and placed their sunglasses and keys on the table. They both smiled at each other. Without a word they went to each other and just hugged. They stayed that way for quite awhile; neither of them wanting to leave the others arms. After a few more minutes they let go.

"I don't know how much I can say this but I love you so much, Daniel. And I cannot wait for the wedding. I can't wait to be called Emily Grayson." They smiled, full of bliss.

"And I cant wait to called you Emily Grayson."

They spent the rest of their evening sitting outside on the porch swing eating Italian, order out food. Most of the night was quiet; no need for talking. All they needed was to be by each other and feel each others love. As the day came to an end, with the waves crashing against the shore in the background and the wind whistling in the bushes, Emily whispered, "I love you Daniel Grayson." As she laid her head on his shoulder. Daniel replied. "I love you. Infinity times infinity."
