No One's POV

Dnaiel opened his eyes to the chirping of a bird. He was lying in bed on his back starring at the ceiling. The bird continued to chirp and started to peck on the window. Daniel turned over to his right and saw that Emily was already awake. In her place was a note with a rose next to it.

It read:

   Dear Daniel,

I had to leave early this morning. Nolan called and said he needed my help at NolCorp. I will probably spend most of my day there. Sorry I am not there when you wake up but before I left I did place a loving kiss on your cheek. (Daniel rubbed his cheek gently) I made breakfast; your favorite, blueberry pancakes and maple sausages. I hope you enjoy they are in the fridge. I'll see you later.

     Love,

          Yours Always

Daniel grabbed the rose and sat up and place it on the table by the bed. He got up and got dressed for work. It was only 7:30 so he wondered what time Emily had left. He went downstairs dressed in his black pinstriped suit. He grabbed his breifcase and organized everything in it then settled down for breakfast. When he opened the refrigerator he saw another note; this time on his pancakes and it said: Follow the arrows. Daniel looked and saw an arrow on the fridge door. He looked and saw several more small arrows on the floor. How did I not see this earlier? He wondered but decided it was better as a surprise. He followed them around the corner and up the side of the wall and into a cabinet. When he opened it he saw a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon. A crisp wine with ripe berries and toasty oak flavors. It was the wine from their first date. Taped near the bottom of the bottle was a letter that said: Tomorrow night. 7:00. Red's Diner. Be there, be square. Daniel smiled to himself. I am such a lucky man.

He ate his delicious pancakes and headed out to work.

Emily's POV

"Yes but Nolan I don't see the reason why the transaction cant go through. I mean this man's wealthy an-"

"Well, Ems have you ever thought that maybe I dont want it to go through?" Nolan butted in.

I looked at him confused. "But...but Nolan this guy...he huge; famous! He invests in your corporation and it'll help you big time. why don't you want him?" I put my hands on my hips. Nolan is trying to look for the right person to allow into his company but so far out of over fifty people he has chosen zero that he trusts. "What's wrong with this one?"

He sat in his big spinning chair and rubbed his mouth with his fingers. "We...I don't know. Maybe he's too big. Too famous. I'm... I'm just not comfortable with him." He twirled around a few times in his chair then stopped and looked at me.."You know what? Maybe I dont even need a new investor. The amount of people I have right now is perfect." He stood up and went over to his glass table which held a pile of 'applicatios', so to speak, and picked them up. Acting like he was struggling, he trudge over to his trash can and slowly and dramatically dropped the pile into it. I exhaled loudly. He turned and looked at me.

"Look I'm sorry I called you in so early. But," he leaned against desk and crossed his ankles. "I did need you for that crisis earlier. I mean they skyped me while I was at home..." he looked around shyly and whispered. "...in my boxers. I mean I needed you to fill in for me. I couldn't very well attend my own board meeting dressed inappropriately. So," he put his hands together and held them up to his lips. "Thank you for filling in and just...taking over the whole thing! You're a life saver!"

I smiled at him. "Well, it was no problem. I'd do anything to be your life saver. But I might just go home now and take a nice hot and bubbly bath if you don't mind."
