Song: Some Nights - FUN
--
Some nights, I stay up cashing in my bad luck
Some nights, I call it a draw
Some nights, I wish that my lips could build a castle
Some nights, I wish they'd just fall off
(Short chorus)
** ** **
Chris stood there making faces every couple of seconds deciding on his choice. Then he blurted out, "Look at me now"
I groaned, "Ugh! I thought you agreed that you'd let me pick!"
"I also said only if everyone agrees. Which, we don't." Zane said.
I sighed, "Whatever."
Hailey went back over to where she was standing before and started strumming her guitar to the new lyrics we had finally decided on.
I got up and Zane followed me. I pulled out one microphone and Zane took the other. We stood in front of the band as they started playing. Zane did his part first and since we decided 'Blow' was going to be the one and only chorus I started singing it.
"This place about to BLOW" I sang. Getting louder and louder.
We went through the first chorus and some of the second when Hailey stopped. I looked over at her and she was holding her finger.
"What happened?" I asked as I walked over to her.
She shook her head, "Nothing. Just a little blood. But my string broke."
I looked down at her guitar and sure enough the very middle string had broke.
"I might have some upstairs, I'll be right back," Hailey said as she went up the basement stairs.
It was an awkward silence until Drew snorted, "This is stupid, no ones even talking."
I shrugged, "Maybe I just don't want to talk."
"Well we cant sit around like idiots all the time pretending to be friends." Chris said.
I sighed, "We are friends. Not really good friends, but friends."
Chris shook his head, he black shaggy hair shaking, "Whatever."
Hailey came back down and we all turned to look at her. She threw her hands up in defeat, "I don't have any."
I sighed and collapsed into the red bean bag behind me, "Thats just great. How much time do we have to practice."
"Four days." Zane said.
I got up from my bean bag and walked over to Hailey, "I'll go with you to the shop." I said.
"Okay. We will be back soon," she said as we went up the steps.
She got her car keys from the counter and we went outside into the hot air. I got into her car and buckled my seat belt.
Hailey started the car, "So, whats up?"
"With what?" I asked.
"Seriously?" She asked.
I looked at her, "Yeah. What?"
"Why are you so mad at Zane?"
I looked at her in disbelief, "Because he ruined our old band. It was awesome having my first band and I loved it. I actually had something to be happy about other than my family. And he ruined it. I didn't really trust him with this band either. But, you were in it so, I had to join."
