*Flashback from last chapter*
Louis’ POV
“No I’m not…” Grace whispered, her face rapidly paling.
*Back to normal time*
“What do you mean? Grace, babe what’s wrong?” I asked, gently holding onto her elbow with my hand, pulling her closer to me.
My gaze was broken from Grace when a deep male voice called out from behind me “Hello Grace… I didn’t expect to be seeing you again…”
I turned to see the person the voice was coming from, and obviously the person who is the cause of Grace’s distress.
“Kieran, please leave... I haven’t done anything, why have you come back?” Grace said, shaking into the hug I had pulled her into when I noticed there was something bad going on.
“You haven’t done anything wrong… Do you genuinely believe that? Oh dear Grace…” Kieran mocked, two metres between him and us, our back to the car where the boys were sitting innocently, no idea what was going on outside.
I heard and felt a sob rattle Grace, “Please… Kieran, please leave…” she said, her voice quiet and shaky.
“But when you do something bad, you need to learn your lesson, right? I thought you leant you lesson last time, but obviously not…” Kieran said, stalking a step closer to us, Grace burrowing deeper into my embrace.
It’s only now that I notice how tall he actually is. He is tall, broad shouldered and he looked like he could knock you flat with the push of a finger. But he was making Grace shake in my arms, and she was almost whimpering with fear, I have no idea of the cause of it but I wasn’t going to take anything he said lightly if he was scaring my girlfriend...
“Kieran, I don’t know what is going on here, but you’re making my girlfriend upset, so would you mind please pissing off…” I said, feeling anger bubble up for a complete stranger.
“ooh, sorry pretty boy, am I troubling you?” Kieran cooed, turning his attention to me, he carried on in a taunting voice “Would you rather wait in the car with all your pretty friends?”
I glared at him, pretty boy, who does he think he is? I could pull more girls by blinking than he could in a lifetime!
“Move the fuck away Kieran, we don’t need your shit right now, Grace has just got out of hospital!” I snapped, beginning to seriously doubt my self restraint.
“Who has she killed this time?” Kieran sneered.
Wait – what?!
I glanced down at the sobbing Grace who was still in my arms briefly, before looking back at Kieran.
“You are stupid if you think you can make me believe Grace is a murderer…” I growled at him, gradually taking steps away from his towering frame as he advanced towards me and Grace, dragging her with me.
“Oh Louis, it is Louis right?” He didn’t pause long enough for me to even ignore him, “She may not have shot a man, but ending a life is ending a life right? And your precious Grace not only fucked with my life, but killed another…” Kieran spat, venom pouring out of his words.
“I don’t have time for your lies Kieran, piss off…” I replied, pushing Grace into the car and hopping in after, gesturing for Harry to drive off immediately.
I couldn’t shake off this uneasy feeling as I was hugging Grace comfortingly, kissing her hair and giving the boys I’ll tell you later looks when they asked what was wrong.
Grace is not a murderer, of that I am sure, but there must be history between them for that amount of venom to be spat into words, and that’s what makes me uneasy. Bad history can bring bad karma, and karma can hit you like a train…
