I haven't proofread this properly, so sorry for any mistakes.

Levi shot up from his sleep, his body sitting up straight in fear. Surprisingly, it wasn't a nightmare that woke Levi however, a storm. A storm which was going to be a nightmare for Levi. His eyes shot to the window and even through Nico's curtains, he could see the flashes of light.

Ever since Levi was a child, he had this fear of storms after an incident when he was ten. Levi was at home with his best friend at the time, having a sleepover, his mum had gone to the shops late at night to get them some snacks and then this storm hit, causing the power to go out and the roads to flood. Trees were falling down and lightning was threatening to hit the house, Levi and his friend couldn't do anything. He couldn't get hold of his mum no matter how many times he called on his phone and eventually it died. It was only in the early hours of the morning when the storm had stopped and the roads were starting to be cleared that his mum came back, Levi never wanted her to leave again. Every time a storm happened from there, Levi was scared that people he loved were going to be hurt and he was going to hurt.

Levi clasped his hands over his ears as another rumble of thunder sounded throughout the room, making him jump slightly. He closed his eyes, not wanting to see the lightning or know when the next crash of thunder was coming. Nico shuffled beside him, feeling that Levi had moved, the thunder not bothering him too much.

"You okay?" Nico mumbled, still half asleep. He didn't register that Levi didn't reply. It was only another round of thunder which seemed to shake the building that made Nico wake up fully. Nico sat up, his eyes adjusting to the dark room and the constant flashes, his eyes focused on his boyfriend. "What's wrong?" Nico asked, sitting up next to Levi, his hand finding its place on the small of Levi's back.

"I don't like it," Levi looked to Nico, his hands coming away from his ears, hoping that it wouldn't thunder again. In the dark, Nico noticed that Levi's breathing was fast and his face seemed paler than usual, he was definitely panicking.

"The storm shouldn't last long, okay?" Nico said softly, holding Levi's hand and rubbing circles on the back of his hand with his thumb. Levi nodded, he was trying to convince himself that it would all be okay. Nico turned away to switch on their side lamp, lighting the room enough for the lightning to not be as obvious. Another clash of thunder shook the room and Levi jumped, burying his head on Nico's shoulder.  "You're okay, you are safe inside," Nico reassured, getting Levi to look at him. Levi took a deep breath.

"How are you not scared?" Levi asked, holding onto to Nico's hand tightly. Nico shrugged, feeling bad that Levi was obviously scared and distressed from the storm and yet, he, himself, was so calm.

"I've seen a lot of storms before. When we used to visit family in Korea, especially in typhoon season, storms would get pretty bad but I just got used to them," Nico stated, distracting Levi for a second. "Sometimes we would just have to try and ignore the storms until they were over," Nico added, smiling softly at his boyfriend. Hoping he would soon feel better and that the storm would stop. "Why are you so scared of storms?" Nico asked, maybe if he knew why he could help Levi be less scared.

"There was a really bad one," Levi started, pausing and holding onto Nico's hand as rumbles of thunder filled the room, "I was 10, my mum wasn't home and the roads flooded, trees fell down, the power went out and I didn't know if she was okay, she didn't come back until the morning," Levi explained, shutting his eyes as if he was trying not to see his memories. Nico felt bad for Levi, knowing that night must have been terrifying for him.
