"I fucking watched you two kiss! That's cheating!" Dylan yelled.

"He kissed me, and I couldn't push him off. He was drunk and didn't mean it," I said through clenched teeth.

"Can someone explain why you bit my son?" Mrs. Archer spoke up.

"It's a wolf thing. Partners make marks on each other to show possession, but it's a supernatural claim and is different than a normal scar," I answered.

"You're not supposed to shift," Dylan scolded me.

"You're not supposed to put me in the hospital," I bit back.

"So he forced you into it?" Dylan asked, much calmer.

"He initiated it, but like I said, he was drunk."

"Why?"

Isaac decided now was the time to join in, "I made a mistake."

"That doesn't answer my question," Dylan snapped.

His problem with me seemed fixed, but Isaac was definitely in the wrong.

"You know why you like her so much. I'm sure you can understand why I did too." Isaac kicked the toe of his shoe into the floor and avoided eye contact.

"So you fucking kiss her?" Dylan balled his fists at his sides.

"Why do you like me?" I asked anyone that would reply.

"Now isn't the time." Dylan brushed me off.

"You?" I turned to Isaac to get a better response.

"Dominant women are attractive," He mumbled.

"Shut the hell up," Dylan snapped.

"Dylan?"

"I don't know." Dylan's has ticked as he ignored my question.

"You don't know?"

"I fucking know but now isn't the time."

Isaac decided to speak up, "You really try to take care of everyone all the time and your focus for that amazes me."

Dylan took a step forward. I stood between them and pushed my hands out to keep them distanced. Dylan walked into my hand and reminded me why I was in the hospital. My wrist throbbed and I pulled it into my chest to cradle it. Dylan looked down at it and guilt crossed his face. He held his hand out to me so I would give him my hand, but I didn't.

"I think we need some time apart," I whispered.

Anger flashed across Dylan's face, and then his face looked pained. He turned to his mom and asked, "Can we have a moment?"

She nodded and pulled Isaac out, who protested heavily. I nodded for him to leave and he pout, but listened. I sat on my hospital bed and noticed I had pulled off all of my cords and tubes. I played with a cord between my fingers to clear my head.

"I am so sorry I hurt you," Dylan said.

"Yeah," I said, unsure of how to reply.

"I didn't mean to," His voice wavered.

"We both know you can control the wolf, so don't try to blame this on it."

"I wasn't going to. I was pissed, and hurt, and I went way too far."

"I made myself a promise a long time ago not to stay with any man that ever hurt me," I whispered.

"If you want to go, then go."

I looked away from my hands and searched his face for remorse, and found none. I was too defeated to worry anymore. The past few days had been emotionally exhausting, which meant I had nothing left for this fight.
