taehyung woke up the next morning to a bright light shining in his eyes.
he groaned and jumped when he heard a chuckle.
"good morning." the doctor said with a smile on his face and taehyung gave him a confused look before his eyes landed on jungkook and he remembered what happened.
jungkook was in a car crash.
"what happened to him? is he gonna be okay?" taehyung asked the doctor who just smiled and nodded his head. "he's gonna be just fine. in fact, he should be waking up anytime now. he slept all night because we had to put him to sleep while we worked on his arm. he also got stitches on his forehead because there was a piece of glass that cut through the skin but nothing too serious." the doctor said and taehyung let out a relieved sigh.
"thank you." taehyung thanked the doctor and the older male hummed. "it's what i do. now there's a group of boys in the waiting room who won't leave and i'm assuming they're with you. they are allowed in as long as you want them here." the doctor said and taehyung nodded, standing up and kissing jungkook's cheek before going to the waiting room on the third floor.
once he got there, jimin stood up and ran over to him. he bear hugged the younger and taehyung smiled softly as he hugged jimin.
"you guys are allowed to come see him. he's still sleeping but he's gonna be okay." taehyung said and jimin quickly pulled away from taehyung to wake up the rest of the boys. "wake up you idiots! we're allowed to see kookie." jimin whisper/yelled as he shook his friends.
taehyung smiled as everyone stood up quickly, rubbing the sleep from their eyes and trying to figure out everything that was happening at the moment.
"room 320 right?" namjoon asked taehyung who nodded and led the way to jungkook's hospital room.
they all scrambled to get to the room, wanting to see jungkook and make sure he was okay.
"he's gonna wake up right?" seokjin asked taehyung and the boy nodded again as he sat in his chair and held jungkook's hand. "anytime now." taehyung repeated what the doctor said and brushed jungkook's hair away from his face.
taehyung knew it was cheesy to think 'even like this jungkook was still beautiful' but it was true. jungkook was still so breathtaking and taehyung wished he could tell jungkook how beautiful he was right now.
"you really love him, huh?"
taehyung looked up and saw seokjin looking at him with a brow raised.
his cheeks flushed as he nodded his head, not caring that everyone was listening and looking at him. "yeah i do. he means the world to me." taehyung said and seokjin smiled, nodding once at the younger.
"welcome to the family." seokjin joked and everyone laughed quietly, even getting a small chuckle out of taehyung. "thanks." taehyung smiled as he looked down at his and jungkook's connected hands, interlocking their fingers.
"it wasn't that easy for me." yoongi said and everyone scoffed. "give us a break yoongi. jimin let you to be our friend because he had a crush on you. taehyung just admitted in front of all off us, who he doesn't know that well, that he's in love with jungkook. that takes guts." hoseok said and jimin sighed, covering his blush covered cheeks with his small hands.
"why do i always get pulled into these things?" jimin asked himself which just made everyone laugh as they began teasing the boy.
taehyung smiled as he looked up at jungkook, sighing when he saw that the boy was still sleeping.
"he'll wake up tae." jimin mumbled as he ruffled taehyung's hair. "i know... i just wish he'd wake up already." taehyung said with a small frown on his face.
"i wonder what would happen if we tickled him." namjoon said and taehyung looked up at the male, raising a brow at him. "jungkook's ticklish?" taehyung asked and all the boys nodded with smiles on their faces.
"he's extremely ticklish everywhere. we used to tickle him to wake him up whenever we would have sleepovers. that's why he never stays at my place anymore." seokjin said and taehyung smiled softly, looking back at jungkook who was sleeping peacefully.
"i don't think we should—"
"too late." yoongi said and tickled jungkook's feet.
jungkook's eyes shot open and he quickly pulled his foot under the blanket that was covering most of his body. "you asshole." jungkook glared at yoongi before rubbing his eyes with his good hand.
"where's taehyung?" jungkook grumbled with his eyes closed. "i'm here kook." taehyung grabbed his hand once more and gave it a comforting squeeze.
jungkook slowly opened his eyes and looked at taehyung, smiling at him as tears built up in both of their eyes.
"i'm so sorry for—"
"oh shut up and kiss." yoongi said and jungkook looked away from taehyung to glare at yoongi once again. "the kissing comes after the apologies, yoongi. have you ever read a book before?" jungkook asked and yoongi rolled his eyes with a smile on his face.
"of course not." yoongi said and jungkook sighed, looking back at taehyung who was chuckling along with the others.
"we should go and give them some privacy." namjoon said and the guys all nodded, telling jungkook they loved him and that they were glad he was okay before leaving him and taehyung alone.
jungkook sat up and made room so that taehyung could sit in front of him on the small hospital bed.
"you should lay down. your back must hurt." taehyung said as he remained seated in the uncomfortable chair. "it's no pain i haven't dealt with before." jungkook winked and taehyung shook his head at him in disbelief as he sat in front of him on the bed.
"you're in the hospital and you're still making sex jokes. i can't believe you." taehyung chuckled and jungkook smiled, wanting to cuddle up to taehyung so badly but he couldn't on the small bed.
"taehyung." jungkook said quietly and taehyung looked at him with his eyebrows raised expectantly. "yeah?"
jungkook smiled at him lovingly, squeezing his hand gently before going for it.
"i love you."
