Chapter - 6 - Darsh

And it was after that day, the entire group urged to bring Ria and Darshan together. They were trying all possible methods. Rohan was consulting their seniors for information about impressing a girl. Kayna would search on the internet and Kritika would read women magazines in the library. They were all really busy in their work and badly wanted Darshan and Ria to be together. They even left their homework behind to achieve their goal that they had aimed for. When the teacher used to ask them for their homework they would merrily pass out a sheepish smile and the teacher would send them out. This had become a normal schedule for all of them.

They started trying out all the stuffs. They asked Darshan to sing a song for Ria, they asked him to ask her for a dance at their prom party, which he declined as he was not quite ready for this. They asked him to sit beside her, they asked him to share his feelings to her, they even asked him to follow her, and they asked him to write a letter to her and what not. But, no one had noticed Darshan's emotions.....he was not quite ready to this because he had never even talked to Ria, so how could he and that is when Kayna suggested another idea to him, "Why don't you ask her out, like for a date??? It would be so amazing" and all she received was a death stare.

His friends insisted him to talk to Ria first and so he did..............................

It was Tuesday afternoon, when Darshan walked up to where Ria was sitting, "Hey", Ria heard a male voice from behind her and as soon as she heard it she skipped a beat, she really liked Darshan a lot. "Hi" was all she could say in response. "Well, I was wanting to talk to you" as he said he took out a piece of paper which consisted of a speech that all of the three had prepared and wanted him to read it out to Ria and they firmly believed for Ria to fall more for him after hearing the speech.

While Darshan was struggling with his emotions and embarrassment, the three of them keenly observed Darshan and Ria from a distance. One could tell they were way too excited, probably much more than Darshan himself. Darshan took out the paper and started reading it out, not so loud but loud enough for Ria and the three of them to hear it, "Ria, the day I saw you, I was mesmerized by you, I was lost in the deep ocean of your eyes. When you look into my eyes and I look into yours I find home in them and peace. Although, we have never talked and this is an awkward situation for both of us but today I decided to open my bottled emotions in front of you. Today, no matter what happens I am going to say this to you" and he paused, he held Ria's hands and said "I know I look like a totally drunk or probably a psych but I really, really like you. Do you think we stand a chance together? Would you give me a chance??" he asked nervously and RIA froze, she was awestruck at what had Darshan said, she took her own time and replied, "Of course, I would give us a chance. You know what Darsh , I had always waited for this to happen, I knew we stood a chance together and all I want to say is, I love you!!!" she smiled cheerfully and hugged Darshan. Darshan hugged her back.

Kayna, Kritika and Rohan approached them and RIA happily announced, "I and Darsh are finally together". Kayna, who stood there happily, jumping up and down, paused and asked RIA to repeat herself and Ria said it again "I and Darsh are together". Kayna boiled out of anger, not because she liked Darshan but because it was she who gave him this nickname, she said "All that is okay and congratulations for that. But 'Darsh' can only be used by me because I gave him that nickname and if you say it again, I will break your face. Get that??" and all broke into hearty laughter except Darshan.
