Following a normal schedule, we spent the next couple of days:
1) Waking up
2) Getting ready
3) Leaving for each other's house
4) Returning back home
5) Sleeping
It was a smooth vacation being spent, even smoothly. I would almost everyday take out time to speak to Ishaan. Honestly, I missed him, well; he said he would visit India for Diwali as well, but he would visit Mumbai, for that is his hometown. I wanted to fly to Mumbai, but, I have already given up, on surprises, I genuinely hate surprises myself. I had also taken revenge, by not allowing Darsh, Kritz and Rohan entering my house, by ignoring them and not offering them anything to eat. Things were fine between Rohan and Kritz and I believe, they were starting to jell together, they were trying to be compatible with each other, and honestly, if both of them try understanding each other then, they would have less misunderstandings and wouldn't have to stick a tongue around thinking of how to resolve matters and also turning all of their gorgeous black hair, to white, by overthinking repeatedly. So, this is how I had spent the rest of the week.
Today is a fresh start of the entire year, because today is Diwali. I have dressed up and I am sitting outside in my balcony. Growing up we have always learnt, that 'Diwali is the festival of lights', but how mush do we implement it and look for the real meaning. Many people on Diwali have to starve, wouldn't they want to celebrate this festival with their loved ones, in new clothes and sweets. Wouldn't they want to burn crackers with their kids? During Diwali, my energy is on another level. This is the most interesting festival and I love how this is celebrated. The festival marks the arrival of Lord Rama back to the city, after an exile of 14 yrs. Damn!!!! 14yrs is so much; I couldn't even stay away from home, for three years. How in the world, did he manage to stay in a small cottage sort, with his wife and younger brother, for 14, real, years? Ma is not wrong when she says; Indian Mythology is out of my mind. She is absolutely right; I like to find logic in things. For example, if you are menstruating you aren't allowed to got to temples or enter kitchens, because 'they' (old people; society) believe it affects the purity of anything and everything. I don't understand, if God had a problem with females menstruating and at the same time entering temples, for it hindered the sanction of pureness, it made things unholy, he would not have made females biologically the way they are. There would have been no menstruation ever. Yet, God never said anything like this. In fact, have you ever heard or read it in any holy book? No, but God also didn't say that men should be walking all around the country, freely and peeing wherever they wish like. The society has never failed to astound me with different norms for humans, who are biologically and technically same.
As, I write in my diary, I hear my phone Buzz!!! Out of nowhere. I pick it up to see, what is it? It is a message on our group called, 'Fam'. I know it sounds cheesy and silly, but it was Rohan, who suggested and fought with us like a stubborn kid to call it 'Fam' and Fam only.
Rohan – 'So, what's up for today?
Kayna - ' I was thinking, because we have to all pray and be at home for the prayers and rituals, lets meet after the rituals in the garden near my house, because it is big and we can burn crackers as well. Then, you people could have food at my place and we could play cards for time and then leave.'
Darsh typing...
I don't understand most of Darsh's habits; he takes forever to type, and end up writing one word or maybe two.
Darshan – 'Okay!!'
See! I told you.
Kritz – 'Yeah and we could bring our crackers also. Great idea Kayna!!!'
With a simple 'thank you', I shut my phone and walk down the stairs, to help mom, today.
