I woke up to my 'I-Phone' ringing helplessly. I grabbed my phone and without even glancing at the caller Id, picked it up. I was waiting for the person on the other side to speak, as I was still half awake and my eyes were shut close, "WHERE WERE YOU? I WAS SO TENSED!! WHY WEREN'T YOU PICKING UP THE PHONE?". It took me a moment to open my eyes, considering it a 'bad morning or evening or whatever it was' and looking at the phone, to find out 'my caller'.
Ishaan. Yes, it was none other than, Ishaan.
"Hi, I was sleeping...", I managed to say until he spoke again. "STOP SLEEPING, CARELESSLY. DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY TIMES DID I CALL YOU? I TXTED YOU SO...".
Enough, fine I understand, I was sleeping but this doesn't mean, he will shout at me.
"STOP SHOUTING!! I was sleeping and I am sorry, I would have not heard the ring, but don't shout at me, right in the morning.", I blabbered. "Oh, sorry KM. I didn't mean to shout at you, I just wanted to check on you, since you know? You are there all alone and I got so tensed when you didn't pick your phone up, I thought you were in trouble. I swear if you wouldn't have picked up this time, I would've booked my tickets for London, right this moment, without a thought." He said innocently. "Of course!! I know, how badly you care for me. I love you Ishaan and I wouldn't do this again, ever. Never." I promised. "So, how was your day?", he shot . "Nothing much, there was college, some studies and then I met a few people in college, submitted assignments and you know what?...," I paused for a moment, thinking if I should tell him about 'the mysterious writer guy', because telling Ishaan about him, might invite more problems since I am being monitored 24/7. "Yes? Hello? KM? what do I know?", Ishaan spoke, bringing me out of my world of thoughts. "Yes, you know what? I was so tired, even after sleeping the whole day yesterday, that I slept yet again." I said smiling at myself and being awfully proud of how I pulled the conversation, back into place, just in time.
"Now, I know how much of a sleepy head you are", he said.
We talked for about an hour, it is when you speak to your friends, you somehow lose track of time, and Ishaan was family, my whole sole family in London, the only supporter here, and the only help I could contact, except for right now, he was overseas. I got up and moved towards the washroom and stared at my reflection for a time, thinking and jotting things in mind, about how I want the rest of my day to be spent. In no time I had prepared my list. It went like,
1) Eating
2) Coffee
Although, I could count coffee in, with some snacks, but I always believed coffee held a completely different spot and deserved to be special. Therefore it was my point number 2.
3) Studying
4) Doing Assignments
5) Some more Studying
6) Bringing all the clues together, for this 'super-mysterious-writer guy'
7) Sleeping
I started by washing my face and changing my clothes into something more comfortable, well what I was wearing was more than comfortable, but as we all know, we, Indians have only two kinds of clothes
1) Ghar ke clothes (Clothes we wear at home)
2) Bahar ke clothes (Clothes we wear when we go out)
So, this technically was my 'bahar ke clothes' and so, I decided to change.
I sat down for my studies, only when I had made some snacks, which were pasta, with some cheese and some coffee. I studied for hours on end. I finished my assignments, I finished revising for my test and I finished working on my notes. I was more than happy and proud of myself for being able to stand at par, with other students, even after missing on in my classes for a week.
