((Takes place a few minutes after The Highest of Seas))
Impulse's POV:
Joe and I got Wels back to his castle. He's surprisingly light for a man who wears armor all day and night. I laid Wels down onto his bed. Joe pulled a bucket out of his inventory and set it down next to Wels.
Wels tried to move, but the swirling magic in body spiked causing him to whine and hold himself. I took out a magic seeking scanner that Tango gave me in the past and held it. The button clicked as I scanned it over Wels's shaking form.
In one of Wels's eyes, it was a solid white. The other? Black as the void that stands below the bedrock. I looked at the scanner and frowned. The magic had spread to part of his mind. Wels's mind was forced into a state of pain and deliriousness.
" Whereeeee aaare we?" Wels questioned as drool escaped from the corner of his mouth. I slipped a medical mask over my face and sat down next to Wels. The shaking knight looked at me and tried to move as I forced him to remain where he was, " You're home Wels...In Hermitcraft..." I told him with a weak smile.
Wels threw up some black and white liquid into the bucket. Joe and I both flinched. The magic seemed to have affected his insides a bit more than I believed. The only good news with this is that Wels can't die from the magic draining his body.
Joe took out an ice pack and laid it on Wels's head. The two of us looked at each other, " Could Cleo or Tango conjure something up to fix our magically abled friend?" Joe questioned. I crossed my arms in thought, " Tango's magic would just drain him even more... Cleo could make a spell to extract the magic from his head, but he'll be immobile for a couple of days." I told him.
Joe put on his mask as he kneeled down next to Wels. He felt Wels's neck for a pulse, " It's decreasing from its volatile rate." he told me as I nodded. Wels made a confused, pained sound as he rolled onto his side. I studied his eyes as he opened them as he breathed.
One black and the other bloodshot. I nodded as I gripped his shoulder and forced him back onto his stomach. He was slowly becoming stable, but another hermit's magic would make him feel better faster. I let out a sigh. I wish X was here... He'd know how to handle this. Wels shouldn't be in this state for so long.
Wels let out another quivering whine as he reached his hand out. Joe looked at him, " What's wrong Wels?" he questioned as Wels pointed to his back. He whimpered and clawed at it with his moveable arm.
Joe and I sat Wels up as he breathed heavily. His black eye coursed with black magic as he shook. I held onto Wels as Joe stood up, " Alright, don't try to wiggle too much, okay?" he questioned. Wels tiredly looked up at him. He blinked one eye at a time and made a tired noise.
I helped Joe as he lifted the black shirt off of Wels body. He visibly started to shake with a small whimper. I studied his backside and frowned. White and black spots have formed along his spine. The spots coursed up to his neck and down to his tailbone.
" That's odd..." I mumbled as I looked at the spots. I scanned the spots and leaned back slightly, " This is where his magic is the strongest, it seems." I looked between the scanner and Wels's back. Wels tried to look back, but he let out a whimper of pain.
Joe looked at him, " I'm going to call Cleo. She's online now, so it shouldn't take long." he told me with a nod. I frowned at him, " Don't tell her about what we went through. Let's just say that we got attacked by a hoard of creepers, and Wels got made while protecting us." I explained. Joe gave me a heavy frown, but he nodded and stuck his earbud into his ear as he left the room.
