Author's Note: Another oneshot for this October season. I will go ahead and say that I may not do something for the exact date of Halloween due to how I'm going off to a party with a friend. Enjoy this story though.

 Ren's POV:

It was almost midnight. 11:30 pm to be exact. I was in my base, and I was curled up in my bed and snuggled up against my fluffy and heavy pillow. I was half asleep when I was called by my best bro Iskall. I admit that I still had drool dripping from my mouth when I agreed to meet Iskall at Stress's ice fortress.

And..... Here I was. In front of Stress's castle and waiting for the Swede with the glowing eye piece. I watched the clouds and up at the full moon that lit up the sky like giant sea lantern. The reflective rock gave me just enough sight that I didn't need night vision. It also allowed me to see Iskall diving down.

I quickly leapt out of the way and landed on all fours as Iskall tumbled onto the ground. Iskall leapt up and nervously looked at me, " Sorry for that landing, Ren. I'm still a bit tired." he rubbed his knuckles together. I nodded at him, " You're fine my dude!" I grinned as Iskall look out a torch and struck it against the bottm of his boot. I looked at him, " Real atmospheric Iskall..." I mused tiredly as he nodded.

" My I ask why I was called out here?" I questioned as I followed behind Iskall. The Swede walked into the fortress with the torch held above his head. I tiptoed behind him as my tail twitched and remained down, " Stress called me, and she started to gasp for help and growl. I tried, desperately, to get information out of her, but it sounded like her home was being ransacked by wolves." Iskall turned down a hallway, " The next thing I know I hear howling, and the communicator gets cut off."

That's.... odd. I know that Stress had those dogs from the Civil War, but they were all at my little cave after Stress gave half to me, half to Tango, and some to Joe. Did she keep one of them around?

Iskall raised his hand causing me to stop, " Do you hear something?" he questioned as he lowered his voice. The hermit raised his hand to his eye and dimmed the light on it. My ears twitched as I looked around.

 Yes.

I heard something. It wasn't the soft cracks from the ice breaking, or the sound of us walking, no. No, it was the sound of an animal. The desperate sound of an animal trying to escape and scratch its way out of somewhere.

Did Stress keep animals here? I know that there were those pink mooshrooms, but she moved them to more purple pastures in another world. I frowned at my tail twitched, " Yeah, I hear something...." I finally told Iskall causing him to nod.

" Which way is it coming from?" Iskall questioned as he moved the torch around. My ears wiggled as I motioned up, " There..." I pointed as Iskall motioned for me to follow. He walked towards a winding staircase, " I know this place like the back of my glove." he smirked as he went up the stairs. I nodded and went after him.

We came to the second floor and looked around. The walls and flours were covered in scratch marks that dug a full two inches into the stone. I looked around nervously as my tail twitched more. At the end of the hall, I saw a large, furry animal ripping open something.

I looked down at Iskall as he gulped and took out his sword. I took out my sword as well and sniffed the air, " That's some kind of dog." I whispered to him as he nodded. The canine raised its head as it turned to us. Its eyes glowed in a mix of red and icy blue causing my whole body to shiver. Iskall raised the sword towards the dog-like creature.

" What do we do?" I questioned as Iskall glanced to me, " We run." he simply told me as we started to quickly move away from the canine. The large creature stood up and howled before bounding towards us. I let out a yelp as Iskall put his sword away and yanked me up the stairs.
