Author's Note: Here's some more calming and slightly happy(?) A77 AU here. The next part will feature a major time skip with elements of transformation and mild torture. I'm debating if there should be a POV.

Another thing to note that I might write for this AU:

The feralized hermits + Mighty getting turned back but not fully (Grian snaps and attacks the person that turned him in a blind rage)

Rik finding out where everyone is before the others do

I also would like to mention that I have roughly two more plotlines that I am absolutely going to do for this AU.

((Takes place during the events of Escape))

 Ren's POV:

The fall air whipped through my tail and ears's fur. I shivered and held my arms as I looked at the entrance to Impulse's base. Impulse had holed himself inside the base to the point where no one has seen or heard from him in months. I've been delivering him food, and I find said food gone by the morning.

I honestly wish that we'd just see Impulse again.

I opened my inventory and brought out a small key. X gave it to me in order to properly check in on Impulse after Tango and Zedaph vanished. I didn't want to invade his privacy, but I suppose that now was as good as a time due to Grian's vanishing. I sighed as I put the key into the lock.

 Grian.

Grian, myself, and Renbob had the hippie commune set up. Grian and Renbob didn't tell me why they did this, but I guess now I won't know due to Renbob going back up into space to "Rejuvenate his aura.". He did leave me a note, but I was too angry to read it. It's now in my inventory, and I want to gag every time I even glance at it.

I shook my head as I opened the door and squeezed through. Slabs and blocks had been through near the door in order to block it. I sighed and shoved the door open by ramming my shoulder into it.

" Ugh, Impulse...." I frowned as my tail twitched. I pulled my shirt up to cover my nose from the dust in the stale air. I sighed as I walked through the barely lit halls. We were thankful that X installed something that would keep the hostile dudes out of our homes.

My tail swished as I felt something click underneath my feet. I yelped as I fell back from a set of anvils that nearly smashed my head into a pulp. I frowned, " There's the Impulse I know..." I smiled as I touched the metal.

I continued to go down the hallway and down the stairs. A faint lantern was next to a bed in the small bedroom at the end of the hall. I tapped my knuckle on the door as I gently pushed it opened.

Impulse was curled up in his bed. His plush blanket covered his body to the point where I could only see the horrible mess of his hair. I walked over to the light switch, " Cover your eyes." I warned up as he retreated underneath the blanket.

The lights flickered on and off before being on fully. I nodded my head as my ears wiggled. I looked around the room and noticed rolled up tissues hastily put around a trash can in the corner.

I frowned as I walked over to the tired hermit. I sat down on the end of his bed causing Impulse to shuffle. I let out a sigh, " Impulse?" I whispered as he let out a whimper. I put my hand onto where his shoulder roughly was.

" Impulse..." I moved closer to him. Impulse whimpered louder as I gently rubbed his shoulder. The hermit slowly pulled his blanket away. Heavy circles were underneath Impulse's eyes. He blinked and sniffled at me, " Ren?" he mumbled as he sat up.
