Keralis shivered as he looked around the village that he and Bubbles, Bdubs, built. The hermit was proud of their joint effort of making a bootiful town, but the weather was causing Keralis's whole body to shake. Keralis took out his robotic eye; a translucent, white film was over it. The hermit sighed as he cleaned the eye and stuck it back into his face. He blinked a few times as the eye realigned to how he normally saw.
" Ah much better! So cold... So very cold indeed.... Bubbles should be around in a little bit though..." Keralis mumbled to himself as he pulled out his communicator. It was almost noon, and Bubbles said that he was going to arrive after gathering materials from Hermitville an hour ago.
Keralis let out a whimper as he started to walk around the village and towards the outskirts of the town. The trees swayed with the wind as the hermit looked around. He stopped at the bridge as loud, surprised yelling came from past the bridge.
This sent alarm through the Swede as he bolted over the bridge. His breathing harshened as his robotic eye scanned around. Keralis stopped as he watched a familiar horse rear up and start to buck. The horse whined and kicked as a body was thrown off of its back and to the ground.
The horse bolted towards Bdub's house almost knocking Keralis to the ground. Keralis shook his head as he hurried towards the thrown rider. BdoubleO laid on the ground. The hermit was sprawled out on his back, but he was slightly clutching one of his arms. The very arm that he broke when he continuously fell for days on end. Bdubs was breathing through his teeth as his vine tail shook.
" K...Keralis?" Bdubs questioned as he held himself in pain. Keralis quickly picked Bdubs up and quickly carried him back into town. Keralis wasn't thinking straight honestly; he just wanted to put Bubbles somewhere safe and warm. It was the fall, after all.
Keralis carried his friend into the small cabin that Bdubs called home. Bdubs was lowered onto his bed, " Ker-augh-is, I'm fine... It just hurts....." he grinned as he looked down at his arm. It was almost bent at a negative degree angle. Keralis whimpered, " Bdouble, you're hurt...." he stared at his friend. Bdubs looked away from his friend; he let out a sigh, " You're....right." the vine covered hermit's tail curled around his leg.
Keralis searched around the whole base for medicine, gauze, anything, but he couldn't even find a tiny gram of pain killers. Bdubs let out a pained sound as a hurried knock came from the door. The two returning hermits looked at each other with nervous looked. Not many things could knock on the door in this village anyways.
" Do I answer it?" Keralis questioned in a whisper. Bdubs looked at him with a pained look, " Well... I can't really do much..." he let out a wheezing chuckle. Keralis shook his head and walked to the door. The hermit gulped and opened the wooden door with a nervous look.
" AAAAAAAAAH!"
Keralis screamed as he fell back. A grey colored hand fell into the room and scurried back towards the owner.
Xisumavoid.
Keralis jumped to his feet and quickly moved to Bdubs' bed. He put his hand on Bdubs's leg with an angered stare; his robotic eye starting to glow a mix of blue and red. Xisuma reattached his arm with a nervous look.
" O-Oh my god Bdouble!" X quickly tapped the side of his helmet. The muted greys on Xisuma turned to the bright green armor that he normally supported. Keralis took another step back as his normally widened eye opened more.
The admin frowned as he looked at Keralis, " It's me Keralis. I am not going to kill either of you.... I...." X took off his helmet with a sad look. X sighed, " I... I may have accidently done this." he admitted with a sigh.
Keralis and Bdubs looked at each of with alarm. Keralis let out a growl, " How? Why Shishwamy?!" he questioned as he looked between Bdubs and X. X sighed, " I saw Bdubs riding down the path, and I guess that I spooked his horse with my dead appearance." he frowned.
Bdubs let out another pained sound, " You were.... You were watching me?!" he raised his voice, but it only caused more pain to his shoulder and arm. X questioned, " I wasn't thinking correct, Bdubs, you must understand that. That dead skin... It changes you..." he sighed as he took out a shulker box.
X took out some bandages, a sling, and other medical equipment. Keralis watched in silence as X started to work on his partner's arm. Bdubs struggled occasionally until X completely numbed his arm and shoulder.
It took a few hours, maybe a bit longer, no one was really paying attention, for X to finish bandaging up the broke arm. X let out a sigh, " I'm just happy that your foot didn't get caught in the stirrup, Bdubs...." he mumbled as Bdubs looked at him, " I'm not that.... augh...." Bdubs tried to sit up, but the numbness was already starting to fade.
X gently wrapped a blanket around Bdubs in order to keep his warm and grounded. Bdubs frowned at him before being given some medicine. X stood up, " Look, I need to go see Rendog... He, Stress, and I are going to have a chat about being dead..." he frowned causing Bdubs to nod after taking the medicine, " Good luck X. I heard that Ren's a bit feral after dying... It's.... mainly pointed towards Grian though, if I remember right." he shook his head.
X nodded, " I will Bubbles." he grinned as he left the building and flew away. Bdubs let out a pained sigh as he took the medicine that X gave him. He curled up slightly under the blanket as Keralis sat down on the chair nearby. The hermit quickly fell asleep after he knew that Bdubs was asleep as well.
