In winter, it's cold but Kaminari's probably had the warmest smile in the room.

Is that how it felt when he smiled at Hitoshi, with a 'good luck on that date!' that seemed to hurt his consciousness? Maybe, but this was a date, a date his friends and Kaminari set up for him.

Her name is Mariah, but she tells him to call her 'Iya', as it's more comfortable. Her hands are delicate and her arm seems to fit nicely wrapped around his as they travel to the place their eating. Someone's arm should be slotted in his, much bigger and longer, but he won't say that.

"So.. what's your major?" The girl smiled at him, hands clasped together politely. Her hair was curled as if she had been anticipating the date for a while, red locks that almost flowed down her back and green eyes twinkling at Hitoshi. Colors that are easy on his eyes, yet the golden sun glittering through the winter is something that the insomniac is more used to.

"I'm an art major, I've always been good at it." He pokes at his food. "As for you?"

"I'm also an art major, I've always been interested in drawings and aspire into the bigger genres of art!"

She's beautiful, he knows this— and he's lucky that she's talking to him instead of the others that watch from a distance. Yet he feels like a puzzle that doesn't fit quite right, like it was forced in.

"Ah, that seems fun.. got any hobbies?" With that, she blows off like a pipe; exploiting her hobbies generously and talking about herself.

Hitoshi knows he should listen, but the food their eating is so much more interesting than American artists and cartoons. In fact, the insomniac is confused on why there's more omelette rolls on the conveyer belt.

"—And that's why I joined art! Don't you agree?" She wakes him up from his trance, eyes fastening on each other expectantly. "You weren't listening were you?"

It catches him off guard because it's only an hour into their date, and she's already got a hint that he isn't interested. Still he gets ready to try and reassure her that yes, Van Gogh is an excellent artist and that sunflowers are the most overrated thing to paint.

"It's fine, I just got a bit too excited." She stops him, hand up in a 'stop'. "I'm not really supposed to be here too."

It quips an eyebrow out of Hitoshi, "what do you mean?"

Mariah chews her salmon quickly, readying to take a sip of her sake.

"I was cheated on, I'm supposed to be heartbroken but I'm here." She explains, swallowing her share of alcohol. "I really loved her too, and I'm feel like I'm doing something bad trying to find someone new."

"Hmm.. you're a lady-lover then? Because if you're lesbian, then you shouldn't even be here."

"Agreed, but honestly I just wanted to... put up an image to her that yes 'I'm not lesbian, I have a man'." She warbled her words. "Am I trying too hard?"

Hitoshi honestly nods, and Mariah holds back her tears.
