The water rooms were at the far end of the school. When they got to the threshold labeled girls, Ella gave her the room numbers "188" and POOF, she was gone. Melony repeated the number, and in a blink of an eye, she was standing with her friend at the door labeled 188. The room was similar to Melony's in set up, a small bed, desk, wardrobe, and a bathroom. But the bed was a dark turquoise, the wardrobe was black and smooth, and instead of wooden floors everything had black and white tiles. But the ceiling amazed Melony. The glass is clear and you can see all the fish swimming around, the little ones stayed together and glowed, the fat ones laid on the glass so that you could see their fat bellies.
They laid on Ella's bed and watched them, it's like having your own personal aquarium. The room felt peaceful and Melony thought that it must be wonderful to fall asleep watching these beautiful fish swim around.
Then, an announcement sounded.
"Attention students, please come to the meeting hall immediately. I repeat, come to the meeting hall immediately."
They pushed through the threshold with everyone and crowded into the elevator, it was hard to move. Everyone squeezed into the meeting hall and tried to get a seat with their friends.
"As some of you may already know," he looked at the sea of students suspiciously "my office, along with several classrooms have been vandalized. White paint, some sort of slime, and permanent glitter have nearly ruined the rooms. If anyone knows who did this, or who stole the artifacts from Mrs. Greengrass's room, please come forward. Thank you." The students had to leave in a single file line, which took forever. Everyone's hands were checked, some students' hands were double checked, a few were triple checked.
It was finally the weekend and both the girls had nothing to do, which they were happy about. Melony told her friend about how in air class they were learning different levitation spells and the history of air magic. Ella talked about how she was now very good at growing gills, and how she's a much stronger swimmer. In water class they were learning about what type of plants are poisonous and how it was believed water people were thought to be sea monsters.
Next, they went to the library to explore. It was vast with an upper balcony level. The librarian's desk had a big map of what books were where and on which floor. As they were wondering the isles and deciding on what books to read next, they came across two other girls, Ella knew one of them and Melony knew the other.
"Hey Hattie, how's it going?" Ella's friend is an earth girl with tan skin, brown hair and eyes, a big smile, and a round face. The other girl is a fire girl, she gave a small wave and wore an orange red dress with a shiny necklace and ring. Melony knew the girl instantly; her painfully quiet potions partner.
"Good, were working on a puzzle. Want to help?" asked Hattie.
The two girls looked at each other to confirm, and sat in the empty chairs around the table. Ella held out her hand to the fire girl to shake.
"Hi, I'm Ella." She smiled brightly to the other girl.
"I'm Poppy." She said in almost a whisper and her face went a little red. They all looked at the picture on the box, which happened to be fireworks in Alaska with the Aurora. They spent nearly 40 minutes quietly working on it.
