What had happened to Shinsō Hitoshi parents had conspired over 6 months ago. His parents had been traveling abroad doing hero work in another country. During this visit, they had encountered someone who they had greatly underestimated. The villain had been proven to be too powerful. So much so, that when it came down to it, they sacrificed themselves in order to save civilians. When news broke out, a ceremony was held in Japan where they were honored for their bravery and valiant acts.
You remember the ceremony like it was yesterday. You stood with your own mother, who had her hand on your shoulder. You both stood a few feet away from Shinso who stood expressionless in front of the two black coffins. His dark circles had gotten worse and were accompanied by bloodshot eyes.
Everyone shared their condolences and offered the boy help. He had no immediate family or guardians that could take him in. You asked your mom if it was possible to take him in but she sadly shook her head. After your father had left, money was tight. Many more offered to take him in but the only one who Shinso wanted to move in with was Aizawa. Your beloved professor took him in and made sure the media didn't get to him with their agonizing questions. He had already been through enough.
The months had passed by within a blink of an eye. Your teachers had allowed you some time to readjust yourself into your studies as it was well known how close you and Shinso were. You did your best to continue with your school work even though your mind was wondering how Shinso was holding up.
Flash forward to now, a few weeks before the summer break would begin. You did pretty well on your exams and the weather had started to get better. Perhaps this could be the summer you could help Shinso feel better. You barely saw him throughout the school year and only heard about him through Aizawa. Now you were heading to his new home where he resided with your professor. The suns rays poked through the tree leaves, a gentle breeze pushing your hair back over your shoulders.
You nervously pushed open the gate to the dark haired professors house. It didn't sound like much commotion was going on. You wondered if anyone was home. You walked up the steps and did a quick, rapid knock on the door. You shifted from foot to foot as you waited for the door to open. To your surprise, Shinso opened the door.
Your eyes widened in surprise. "Shinso?"
He rubbed his baggy eyes. He wore a white tank top and black sweatpants. Clearly he was still sleeping even though it was 3 in the afternoon.
"Hey, hows it going?" he mumbled.
He leaned against the door and let out a big yawn.
"Did you just wake up?" you asked deadpanned.
He rolled his eyes. "So what if I did? Is there a problem?"
You winced at his attitude. He never got this grumpy before. You did your best to force out a smile.
"Look, I just wanted to know if we could hang out today," you asked hopefully.
"For what?"
"Well....summer is almost here and I wanted to plan some cool things with you."
He let out a low chuckle. "Ha! Yeah, no. Go home I'm tired anyways."
He began to close the door but was stopped by a voice shouting at him from down the hall.
"Shinso, is that (Name)? Let her in, you knuckle head."
Shinso grunted as Aizawa pushed past him to invite you into his home. He held the door open wide.
