Falling (Shinso Hitoshi x Reader)

Love Galore

     The night had grown a little chilly, adding more to the thrill of playing manhunt. Todoroki safely put out the fire using his ice quirk and Monoma switched on all the outdoor lights so everyone could make their way back safely. Everyone had split up into pairs. You and Shinso stood a few feet awkwardly away from each other as everyone else talked excitedly about the game. Monoma and Jiro pulled you aside. 

"You don't have to play if you don't want to," Jiro said, placing a hand on your shoulder. "I know you don't want to be around him."

"It's okay, I can handle it," you said.  You gave her a thumbs up despite the nervousness that was beginning to overwhelm you. 

Monoma frowned. "I don't like the idea of you two being in the woods along together."

"I know he's a jerk but he's not going to put his hands on me or anything," you said. "It's just a harmless game. If anything happens I'll text you our location so you can "find" me." You put air quotes around "find" and winked at him. 

"Oh, (Name)," Monoma sighed. "Are you sure you'll be okay?"

"Of course. Don't worry guys; I just want all of us to have fun," you reassured  them.

"I'm not gonna have fun if you're not having fun," Jiro pouted. 

You shoved her towards her partner. "Well then go out there and have fun because I know I will!" 

"Please just be careful, (Name)," she said with a worried look before joining Itsuka again.

"Let's get this started already, Monoma!" Itsuka called out. 

He looked at you one last time and gave you a hug. "If anything happens, call me," he whispered in your ear. 

You patted his back softly before letting him go. 

      Monoma and Midoriya quickly explained the rules to everyone. No one could go hiding somewhere indoors. Everyone had to stay outside however, no group could venture out too far. Groups needed to hide within a reasonable distance. No one was officially caught unless they were tagged by Monoma and Midoriya. So even if they saw you, you still had a chance to run and hide until they tagged you. Everyone tagged had to return back to the cabin. Quirks were allowed to be used during the game. The game would be officially over at midnight giving everyone 2 and a half hours of play. At midnight everyone had to return back to the camp even if they hadn't been tagged yet. 

"So is everyone ready?" Midoriya asked. "We'll start counting down from 100 and then come and find you."

"Good luck trying to find us, Deku," Ochaco teased. "Me and Todoroki are so gonna win."

"I think me and Itsuka got this down too," Jiro said with a proud smirk. 

"We'll see about that," Monoma chuckled. 

     You felt awkward knowing you couldn't really act as playfully competitive with Shinso as the others were. You weren't even sure if you were going to say a single word to him when the game began. But before you knew it, Monoma and Midoriya were counting down by a tree and everyone sprinted off. Ochaco hopped on Todoroki's back as they skated away on an ice bridge, Jiro and Itsuka sprinted off in one direction, Yaoyorozu had made two dirt bikes for her and Denki, and then you just followed Shinso. The both of you lightly jogged far away from everyone else. You did your best to shake off any nerves you had as you further separated from the group. When it seemed like you were far away, you both slowed down to a walking speed.
