Day 1.
Juno was already feeling upset and lonely, for he had woken up the very next morning, only to find an empty spot next to him on the bed that he once shared with his lover.
He knew that it was for the best that Mackenzie Huntington went back to America due to a family emergency, a situation that she cannot turn her back on. He was so worried for her family too, even though he has never met them before.
Family takes care of family regardless, whether you were all blood-related or not, and Juno felt like he was apart of Mackenzie's family, so if she was worried about her mother, he was worried about her mother.
And because of all that distress that he carried upon his shoulders, he couldn't eat his breakfast, especially since he and Mackenzie would ALWAYS eat their meals together while sitting across from each other.
...And now the seat across from him was empty, leaving Juno to wonder; who would he talk to during mealtime?
Who would he make delicious meals with?
Who would always tease him whenever he wore an apron in the kitchen as he clumsily danced to TWICE?
Unfortunately, no one.
Only Mackenzie Huntington can do that and no one else.Day 5.
Juno was getting more and more anxious with each passing day.
He kept checking his phone every 5 seconds, hoping that he would get at least ONE text from Mackenzie, even if it was just a simple hi or a short update on what was happening.
Juno was super agonized and troubled and he had every right to be.
He wanted to know how Mackenzie was handling the situation.
He wanted to know if Mackenzie made it to America safely.
He wanted to know if Mackenzie was still smiling...
But, there were no text messages from her, not even one.
He called her multiple times just to hear that soft, melodious voice of hers that made his mind go blank and his heart do so many backflips...but it only left him to voicemail, something that just wasn't enough for him.
You know you really miss someone when you crave something so simple, such as the sound of their voice...and that was what Juno wanted.
Yes, he knew that he was acting too much like an overprotective mama bear, but he just wanted to make sure Mackenzie was okay...and alive.
He even felt like packing his things and going to America himself, just so he could search for her and hold her in his arms as he whispered sweet things in her ear...
He sighed as he called her again, hearing the same silly voicemail she had prerecorded awhile back."Heyyy~ This is your girl, Mac Daddy! Unfortunately I cannot answer your call as of now! Please leave a message after the beep! BEEEEP!"
Juno sadly smiled as he then lays back down on the couch, hugging the phone to his chest as tears began to fall down his rosy cheeks...
Who knew that living alone was THIS hard?
Who knew that the hardest thing in life was not talking to someone you used to talk to everyday?Day 10.
Juno was about to go insane any second now...
Still no word from Mackenzie.
Still no hugs from Mackenzie.
Still no kiss from Mackenzie.
It may have been a week, but to Juno, it felt like an eternity.
He felt like he was being stabbed by the painful knifes of loneliness, stress, depression and heart break...and unfortunately, Mackenzie Huntington wasn't there to heal those scars like she always did.
Juno stayed silent the whole day while in school, keeping his head low as he tried to avoid everyone, especially his old bully.
Luckily though, his old bully never messed with him anymore and it was all because of Mackenzie Huntington, the young woman who protected Juno with all her strength, the young woman who did everything she could to solve the problem, the young woman who cared so much for him, even though they were just roommates at the time...
Juno felt so grateful that he finally met an angel who was sent by God to help him get through life, through thick and thin.
When he opened the door of their apartment, he hoped that she would be there to surprise him, waiting in the living room as she held her arms out, giving him that beautiful smile that made his day even brighter than the sun.
He wanted to hear those four words that he yearned for so much...
