My father once taught me that having a family was the greatest treasure of all...that was, before he left us.
The role of being a father wasn't just an important job for a man, it was a necessity. A father has to teach his children the rights and wrongs of the world and he has to help them get through life so then they could survive. Having a father is like having a hero of your own, a guide of your own and a best friend of your own.
Unfortunately, I didn't have anyone who would fit all those things anymore...so I had to be my own hero, I had to be my own guide, I had to be my own best friend.
That's just how life goes for someone who had lost their father.
And now Elias had to deal with the pain and suffering from the recent loss of his father...
I couldn't imagine what kind of emotional harm he was going through right now.
My guess is that he is in his parent's suite at the top of the hotel resort, along with his brother Stephano as they both stare at the lifeless body of their once happy and cheerful father as he laid there silent and motionless on the bed, the red velvet covers pulled up to his chin as his eyes were closed like he was in a deep, peaceful slumber.
Elias would be kneeling by his father's bedside, sobbing into the covers as he kept repeating his name over and over again, hoping that he would wake up, while Stephano holds his ground, quietly watching as he bit the inside of his cheek, nervously tapping his feet.
Their mother is possibly outside of the room, crying as she covered her wrinkled face with her dry hands.
...All of this was happening and all we did was explore the resort, looking for something to do to get our minds off of the situation at hand.
We pretended like nothing was happening, except for me and Juno, who were really worried and concerned for Elias while Brownie trailed by our side, whining.
Kou, who was walking ahead of us along with Val, was the first to break the silence between us."Okay, I know that our landlord's father just died, but what else can we do? Death is a natural thing...it cannot be stopped, no matter how hard we try to save someone from it..."
"Kou's right you guys...we can't do anything about it, all we could do now is just wait until Mr. V needs us for emotional support..."
"Yeah, yeah I know...but it just...sucks. Bad. One day, you're smiling with that certain someone and then the next thing you know...they're just...gone. Gone in just a snap of the finger."
"Yeah...they may be gone, but they will never be forgotten. Right, Mackenzie?"
Juno asked as he holds my hand tightly, patiently waiting for my response. I then nod as I ruffle his hair.
"Yes, right..."
"I don't like this whole tension between us, so let's try to get our minds off it, okay? We're at a sports resort, people! We should take this opportunity to relax ourselves from our personal lives! Now who wants to sword fight with me?~"
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)"Oh hell nah!"
(>_<)"M-Mackenzie, it's Sunday..."
(^^;)Oh right, I'm not allowed to say the H-word on Sunday.
"Oops! Sorry! I mean, oh heck no! Ew! Why you always gotta be a pervert, Kou?!"
(>_<)"Because that's what I'm good at~"
(。•̀ᴗ-)✧Juno then hugs me from behind, frowning at Kou while Brownie growls at him.
"You better not even TRY and steal my girl or you'll be sorry..."
"Okay okay, geez! So possessive..."
(¬д¬。)"Oh! I know! Let's play table tennis! I'm a master at table tennis~"
