I kicked the ground with my bare feet, having taken my sandals off when I shut down my suit after walking away from Peter and Tony.

I was playing with my necklace, which I had taken off.

As I played with it, it started to glow.

Out of shock and fear, I threw it on the ground, taking a few steps back in case it decided to explode.

"What the hell?" I whispered as the glow went down.

I waited a few minutes but the glow didn't come back, so I picked it up and slipped it into my pocket.

As I walked, I felt like something was wrong.

My heart pounded in my ears, getting louder and faster with every step.

I stumbled to a stop in the middle of the sidewalk and put my arms up with my hands above my head to open my chest up.

"It's okay," I muttered. "I'm okay. Stay calm. Everything is fine."

"You good, girl?" someone asked from behind me.

I spun around to see the buyer from the deal before in a car on the side of the road.

My mouth dropped open and I stuttered a bit. "I- um. Uh- Yeah."

"Cus if you're having a panic attack you should probably call someone for help," he added.

I pursed my lips but nodded. "I saw you."

"Huh?"

"I saw you with those guys."

His face dropped and his window began going up as his car started to move, but I ran forwards and caught the car, leaning through the window. "Wait! Wait, please. I won't turn you into the police. I just need to know something."

He sighed. "Fine. But make it if you turn me in..."

"I won't!" I repeated. "Just, please answer truthfully."

He nodded begrudgingly.

"Who-" I paused for a second. "Who were those guys?"

"I don't know, I just found out about them and they wanted to sell me stuff."

I sighed. "Okay, I believe you. Do you know how they got those weapons?"

"Nah. Like I said, man, I just wanted to buy some stuff. They were tryna upsell me too. They wanted the big guns on the street." The man replied.

I sighed. "Okay. Stay out of their way, yeah? I don't want anyone getting wrapped up in all of this unless they need to."

He nodded. "Fine. Who are you, anyway?"

"If I tell you who I am will you tell me who you are?"

"No way."

"Then I'm nobody. You didn't see me and we didn't have this conversation. Clear?"

"As day, man. Call someone to pick you up, a'ight. It's dangerous to be alone at night."

And with that, he drove off.

What a lovely guy.

I walked for a little while longer, my dress still dripping and my hands wringing my hair to squeeze some of the water out of it.

"Ash!"

I turned around as Peter ran around the corner and up to me. He wrapped his arms around my body and pulled me into his chest. I didn't realize how cold I was until that moment.

One of his hands held the back of my head, his fingers threaded through my hair.

"God, Ash, I was worried!" He exclaimed. "I didn't know where you went and I thought... I thought you..."

"I'm fine Peter," I said quietly as I pulled away from him. "I'm good."

"Okay, good. I just- I was freaking out and Mr. Stark was upset and he told me off and I was kind of finding it hard to breathe and then I found this thing and I-"

"Thing? What thing?" I asked.

"Oh, this thing. Yeah." He picked up a hunk of metal he'd dropped on the ground and placed it in my hands.

I studied it and frowned. "What is it?"

"I have no idea."

I looked up at my boyfriend with an exasperated look on my face as he shrugged. "Okay, so now what?"

"We don't go back to the party."

"Why not?" I asked.

"Becau-"

My phone began to play Yeah by Usher again.

I sighed and pulled it out of a zipped up pocket that was thankfully waterproof. "One sec. What's up, Hayley?"

"Don't come back to the party," she said immediately.

"Why not?" I asked again.

"Girl, just take my word for it. You don't wanna be here right now."

I sighed. "Okay, fine. I'll see you tomorrow, right?"

"No, I'm doing a thing with the family I'm living with tomorrow."

"Okay, then. I'll see you when I see you."

"Yeah. Okay, bye. Love you!"

"Love you too, Hayley." I hung up and turned to Peter again. "Can we go home?"

He nodded. "Let's go. I'll drop you off."

"No, can I stay at your place? My place is too quiet." I said in a small voice.

Peter put an arm around my shoulders. "I'm sure May'll be fine with that. I'll go get changed and then I'll call her to pick us up, yeah?"

I nodded, shivering. "Okay."

He pulled me closer to try and warm me up. "C'mere. You can wear my hoodie."

(A/N)

hey just a cutesy little chapter for you to enjoy.

Also, this book is nearly to 500 reads???

Like.

What???

How???

Anyway, this chapter destroys my whole ten chapters in advance thing and tears it down to 8, so this is kind of worrying for me, but I'm working on some other stories as well that I might publish here so no stress.

Also, my dog ate chocolate biscuits this morning that my brother had open in his room and I'm scared.

Also also, I got a haircut and it's kinda short but I really like it.
