Jessica Hastings gave us a smirk.
"Jess, what-" I started.
"My name's actually Svetlana Yurkov. Jessica was all part of the cover," she smirked. "Now come, deti. We have a long way to go yet."
We sat in the back of a van with our hands tied together.
I was tied to Marina while Louis was tied to Renée on the other side of the van. We had sacks over our heads as well.
It was a long drive to wherever we were going, my guess was a HYDRA base, and we were silent the whole time.
The second we were there, the sacks were ripped off our heads and we were dragged out of the van into the cool autumn air.
Judging by the signs in German, we were in Germany.
The four of us were dragged to a strange looking building in the middle of a bare, grassy field surrounded by tall, thick trees on all sides.
The door creaked open as Jess - Svetlana, actually - pulled it open and stepped inside.
"This is your home now," she smirked. I noticed that she suddenly had a bit of a Russian accent. "Get comfortable."
We were untied and shoved in, the door slamming shut behind us.
The only light in the room was coming through the gap under the door.
In the dim lighting, I managed to make out a single lightbulb on the ceiling.
The room itself was probably about three by three meters squared and there were two mattresses, a toilet and a sink.
I was surprised they even gave us that much.
Marina and I helped each other up and held onto each other.
"Is anyone hurt?" she asked.
"No," came the reply from Renée, Louis and I.
"No," came a second reply.
Ryker.
Renée let out a cry. "Ryker?"
"I'm here. On a mattress," he said. He sounded exhausted.
We all stumbled over the dips and ruts in the ground to him and collapsed on the mattress together. The five of us wrapped our arms around each other, holding on tight.
"Are you okay?" Renée asked her twin.
"I am now you're all here," he said contently.
We caught up on what he'd been doing, which really hadn't been much.
Soon, the door creaked open.
It was Svetlana.
"Hi, everyone," she said, fake cheery. "Come on out, we have some games for you to play."
Her sadistic smirk gave her away.
We begrudgingly trudged out, stepping into the blinding sunlight.
"First of all, you need to..."
Every day went by in pain.
My muscles ached from the amounts of work we'd been forced to do over the past two weeks and the lumpy mattresses.
Those mattresses were our only comfort.
We'd pressed them together and all lay sideways on them, pressed against each other for warmth, comfort and lack of being able to do anything else. There were no pillows or blankets, not even a cover sheet for them.
The toilet was the worst part.
After a few days, it started to smell.
We were forced to clean it.
If you were wondering why we didn't just escape, well, our powers were dampened, there were guards stationed outside our room 24/7, and we were weak and exhausted from exertion and lack of food and water.
We were breaking.
After a week, I came up with the idea of counselling.
Yes, counselling.
Every day, after we'd had our 'dinner' (usually stale bread and maybe an apple), we would split into pairs and talk about everything and anything. The odd one out would clean up.
That was the only time ever we used the light.
There came a time when Marina could barely stand.
After that day, she disappeared in a van.
From then on, it was each to their own.
We fought each other, ordered by Svetlana, almost to the death.
The loser was forced to carry rocks to make a new building.
On the first day, I fought Louis.
I was so close to passing out when I made a fist and thrust it into his neck, throwing him off me and onto the ground, gasping for air.
That was the day that I became a different person.
That was the day I broke.
(A/N)
I have no idea what I'm doing.
Help.
