He eyed our linked arms and our packed bags. "Is this some kind of new tactic to make me feel worse? Or is it you two just genuinely being ridiculous?"
I smirked jauntily. "It is whatever you want it to be, Moriarty."
Tony's eyes narrowed. "I am not Moriarty."
"No?" I teased. "You're the murder victim then, yes? Seems only fitting."
He scowled. "What do you want?"
We stepped inside and sat on the couches.
Wanda and I occupied one and he sat alone on another.
"We need to use a plane," I said bluntly.
"No." he replied, just as blunt.
Wanda was giving me a look. "We didn't go over this..."
"Sorry," I whispered.
Tony changed the subject. "I heard about you blackmailing my receptionist. Good job picking that up. Took me two weeks."
"Took me two seconds," I smirked.
He frowned. "If you want my plane so bad, you might wanna stop being so sarcastic."
"Sir," his AI, FRIDAY, began. "Senator Ross is coming up in the elevator. I believe someone downstairs tipped him off about Miss Maximoff and Miss Valentinez's arrival."
Tony stood up, causing me and Wanda to do the same. "Find out who it was. Wanda, Ashley, go down the stairs."
"Sir, they are coming up the stairs as well." FRIDAY continued.
I clasped my hands tight and shared a look with Wanda. "We'll deal with them."
"They have guns," FRIDAY added.
"We don't need guns," Wanda replied.
The two of us started down the stairs.
"Wait!" Tony shouted, running up to us. He clasped a necklace around my neck.
"Thanks?" I said, looking at it. It was a green leaf on a gold chain with a small button on the back.
"You're welcome. Click it."
I blinked at him but clicked the button.
A suit came out, enveloping my body, starting from the chest and working it's way down.
This suit was far more technological than my last one, with plates of reinforced carbon fibre overlapping each other to form a sort of armour. In the centre of my chest was the green leaf, glowing with power. The suit was mainly black with emerald green and dark brown accents. Gloves covered my hands with repulsors like Tony's in the centre.
I marvelled at it. "Woah. Thanks. What are the repulsors for?"
"Press this button and they'll help focus your powers. Press it again and they'll be repulsors in case you get too tired or want to change things up a bit." He showed me buttons on the sides of my pointer fingers. "If you press the charm again," he demonstrated. "The suit will disappear."
"What if the necklace falls off or is taken?" I asked.
"It can only be taken off by you. Or me. If anyone else but us touches it, they get a nasty zap. You can make certain people able to touch it, but I would suggest against it." Tony said.
"And if it falls off?"
"It can't. It's kind of melded to your skin."
"What?" I asked incredulously. "Are you kidding?"
"As much as I'm glad we can have this conversation and tutorial right now," Wanda said impatiently. "We are on a bit of a time crunch."
"Senator Ross is two floors down," FRIDAY informed us.
Tony sighed. "Alright, go. Call me if you need anything or you can't figure it out."
I nodded then pressed the button on the back of the leaf. I realised something. "Where's the mask?"
"You could press this button here," he said, pressing a button near my jaw. "Or, since pretty much everyone knows who you are any way you could just-"
"Senator Ross is almost on this floor."
"-Go with it!" Tony finished, pushing the two of us backwards. "Go!"
I stumbled slightly, then hugged him tightly. "Thank you, Tony."
"Anytime, kid. Go on." he pushed me away.
I sighed. "Sorry about this."
"Sorry about wha-"
I pushed him onto a couch and wrapped him in vines, disappearing down the stairs as the elevator doors dinged open behind us.
(A/N)
I love writing Tony.
He's so fun to write.
Also, I'm reading yet another fic with Hailee Steinfeld as the face claim and I am on the verge of just giving up.
Like, seriously.
Anyway, I had a pretty good day today, hanging out with my friends, so how about you guys? I'd like to interact a bit more with my readers.
In other news, my phone pooped itself again so all the stuff I have on my loan phone (iCloud back-up) is from July 2018 which is the time when I had everything 'organised' into colour coded folders and didn't have my cover making app. *shudders and cries*
Thankfully I have all 96 of my writing notes (excessive, but true) because Notes always backs up and I'm- yes, Apple, thank you but still curse you my phone sucks balls.
Thank you for your time.
