Anastasia's POV

It's just a dream. It's just a very bad dream. I'll just sleep. And when I wake tomorrow, it will go away. My husband loves me. He won't do this to me. We are the perfect couple. We will be terrific parents.

I change my clothes into my pajamas and then I go to bed. I shut my eye. But I don't sleep. I can't sleep.

The next morning, I don't find Nate at home. He's gone. He never leaves the house without saying goodbye. It crushes my heart. I still hope that this morning he will say that he was just messing with me.

I take a shower and then with my driver we go to The Smiths mansion. When we arrive, I run inside the mansion.

"Mom, Dad," I call them.

Donna and Brandon asked me to call them mom and dad. They said I am their daughter now that I'm married to their son.

I find Donna and Brandon in the living room. It looks like they are waiting for me.

"Come here, Ana. Sit with us," Brandon says.

My heart beats faster.

"Mom, Dad, yesterday Nathan asked for a divorce, he-"

"We know," Brandon says. Donna starts to cry.

"You know? Have you talked to him to stop it? What happened? I don't understand. We were in love. And then suddenly."

"We think this is the best," Brandon says. He doesn't even look at me.

"What did you say, Dad?" My tears drop.

"This is the best for you two. He doesn't love you anymore, Ana."

"I'm pregnant, Dad."

That makes Donna cries harder. Nobody speaks for a minute.

"You are still my daughter, Ana. No matter what. But I think, divorcement is the best for you two." Brandon states.

"How can this be the best? When my son or daughter will grow up fatherless? I don't understand his reason."

"Ana, trust me, please. Just get along with it. Jack, our lawyer, is coming. You will have enough money. I know you won't accept it. But please, my grandbaby will need it. Forgive me, Ana. Forgive me. But your marriage has to end."

This time, he says it while he looks into my eyes. He is deadly serious.

"Money? Do you think I want money? Do you think I marry Nathan for money? Mom, you know how I feel about Nathan, right? You know how much I love him, right?"

She doesn't say anything. She doesn't even look at me. I don't know what to do. I don't know what else to say. My head hurts badly, I know my eyes will be swollen. I can't think straight.

"Excuse me, Sir, Ma'am. Mr. Jack Hunt has arrived," the maid suddenly speaks.

"We need to see him, Ana," Brandon says while he stands up and helps her wife to get up.

I walk along with them to see this lawyer, and we get into Brandon's home office.

"Good morning, Mrs. Smith," he talks to me. He sees me with pity in his eyes.

"I'm here to explain to you about the divorce process. I will make sure it will be as quick as possible. And we'll do it discretely of course." And then he starts babbling. I don't hear him. I don't understand what he's saying. I just stare outside. I see the flowers in the garden. I see birds and I wonder, can bird cries?

"I don't know, Ma'am, " he answers. It looks like I said it out loud.

"Let me continue it, Ma'am. Mr. Smith also will pay for all of your kid's needs. But your kid won't be carrying his name."

"What?" That statement gets my attention.

"Your unborn child will not have Smith as his last name. You will also go back into Ms. Brown."

"I thought you said this is your grandbaby?" I ask Brandon and Donna.

They said nothing. It looks like Nathan really wants to get rid of me.

"Tell me, who is the woman?" Nobody answers it.

"It's me."

Suddenly Nathan comes hand in hand with Lisa. The bitch looks at me smugly. Lisa Jones. I thought our story with her is over. It looks like I was a fool then.

"Are you really that stupid, Ana? Your so-called husband always comes home late lately, doesn't he? It's because he is with me. He never has sex with you again, doesn't he? It's because I make him tired every night. You see, once he has a taste of me, he forgets about you. Don't worry, Ana. If the baby is really Nathan's, we will provide for him. But of course, we need to do a DNA test first." Lisa talks to me.

Her words stabbed my heart. I look at Nathan. He doesn't say anything. He looks at me with no emotion. Then he hugs her and kisses her temple. I rub my still flat belly. It's alright kiddo. We'll do this together.

"My baby won't have Smith name, and The Smith will not have a say to whatever happens to my baby," I take a deep breath and wipe my tears.

"And we don't need your money. You can keep it." I shout it to Nathan and his family.

I didn't come from a rich family. I know I can raise my own baby. I may not be rich, but I have a smart brain. My baby doesn't need this family. He will have me. And I have him. I know what I need to do now. My heart is hurt. But I need to take action for my baby. I don't need their money, I don't need Nathan. I was fine without them. I'll be fine again without him.

"Don't be silly, Ana. You need it. My grandbaby-," I glare at Brandon.

"This is not your grandbaby. And this is final. Write down my clause or I won't sign the paper."

I have enough money. It's not much. But it's enough.

"Okay, write it down. So we can process it quicker. I can't wait for us to be together," Lisa says. The way she said it, it looks like she can't wait to toss me away. And I will help them. I will do everything to make it quick.

As soon as Jack finishes revising the paper, I sign it, and then I get out of the mansion as quick as possible.

"Ana, " Nathan calls when I arrive at the car.

"I know how determined you are. I know you won't accept my money. But I make an account for the baby. There is some money. Use it for the baby. To go see an OBGYN or something. Please accept it. Not for you, for the baby," he, please.

I don't answer him. I get into the car and ask my driver to drive me home for the last time. After this, it's not my home anymore. I will find my own house. There is no way in hell, I will accept his money. I regret selling my parents.

"I love you, baby. Your father might not want you, but I want you. He might not love you, but I do love you. It's just you and me now, baby," I whisper to him.
