Chapter 11 -Fundraiser (2)

Nathan's POV

I couldn't stand it when I see Blake put his hand on her. It was my brother. He knew about her. I talked to him about her before. He knows about how I feel. I know he's not trying anything to her. I just don't like it.

I love her. Damn. I do. She's the one for me.

That's why when I saw him I was so full of jealousy.

I take Ana around to see the guests. I know sometimes she's nervous so I keep her on my side. I know when she sees Lisa get closer she still upset. Her little body stiffens. Her eyes on fire.

"Hello, Ana. We meet again. Although this time you look...... different."

I grab Ana's waist and rub his spine to make her calmer.

"Hello, Lisa,"

"Excuse us, Lisa. I want to introduce my girlfriend to the guest. Everybody wants to know who has captured my heart."

And then I take Ana to leave her.

"Calm down, my love," I whisper to her.

"I can't stand her, Nate."

"Don't give her reason to ruin our day."

" I know, Nate."

I kiss her temple and lead her to meet my family.

She gets more relax after a few minutes. She's talking to my sister and my cousin, Kitty. Thankfully my mom put us in my family table, far far away from Lisa. Ana is a lovely person. It's easy to like her. Her personality is great and she looks beautiful too especially in this dress. I don't like it because men are staring at her.

"Still pissed?" Blake asks. As brothers, we sit next to each other.

"Shut up, Blake."

"Aw, come on. I just come home and this is how you treat your brother who almost got killed hundreds of times on the field?"

"It's your choice to be in the army so don't put blame on me. And it's also your choice to put your hand on Ana."

"Hahaha, my baby brother is growing up! She gets you on her hold, doesn't she?"

"Yes, she's my woman. Maybe if you stop playing around you will know."

"Am I hearing a wedding bell?" He whispers.

"Shut up."

I try to play it cool but actually deep down in my heart, he makes me think. I love Ana. Does she love me too? Is it too early if I ask her for marriage?

"Nate, I'm going to the restroom."

"Okay, let me take you." I stand up.

"No way. Talk to your brother. I will be right back. Watch him for me, Blake."

Blake winks at her. I roll my eyes.

Anastasia's POV
When I just finish my business in the restroom and washing my hand, I see the fake doll coming to my side. Perfect coincidence? There's no such thing.

"Well well well, Dr. Anastasia Brown."

I give her nothing . I just wash my hand and when I'm trying to go out, she blocks my way.

"Move," I say.

"No way. Leave Nathan. Or else."

"Your threat means nothing for me."

"You think after you use this dress and put on makeup you become a princess, don't you. Let me tell you, you're not."

"I don't remember asking your opinion."

"Nathan must be the one who buys this dress, right? You won't have money to buy this."

My face is getting red.

"Oh come on, don't get mad. Everybody knows how poor you are. This is a fundraiser. It's only right if he brings the poor."

"Why are you so mean?"

"Mean? Honey, I'm nowhere near mean. You should realize, Nathan belongs to someone in his class. Not someone like... you. I wonder how deep your student loan is to pay your med school. Can you pay for it? Do you need my help to pay for you? Oh, wait. Is that why you're with Nathan? To pay for your loan? Let me pay it plus I give you a million-dollar but you have to leave him."

"Fuck you," I spat to her.

"Oh, Nathan likes that. He likes to fuck me. Two million dollars."

"Move!" I try to get out of her way but she keeps blocking me.

"Or what? You'll tell everybody that I harass you? These people are my friends, family, not yours. You are just... Nathan's new plaything. They won't trust you. Look at you, you don't belong here." I hold my tears. I won't give her satisfaction to see me cry.

"ANA! Ana!" I hear Jenny's voice coming inside.

"Oh, hi, Jenny," Lisa says as if nothing happens.

"What is going on here?" She asks her with fire in her eyes.

"Nothing, we just getting know to each other."

"Fuck off, Lisa. Come on, Ana," she grabs my hand and leads me out of the restroom. I see Nathan runs towards us.

"What's wrong?" He asks.

I say nothing. I just look down. I'm afraid I will cry if I see him.

"Baby, look at me. What's wrong?"

When I keep not answering him, he grabs my chin and makes me look at him. I can't help it any longer. I feel my tears run on my cheek.

"Nathan, give her a minute, will you? Let her calm down."

"No, tell me what happened first."

"That happened." Jenny pointed Lisa. She's getting out of the restroom.

"Get me out of here please, Jenny." I sob at Jenny and she complies with me.

Nathan's POV
I saw one of our maids went to Jenny. Her face looks distressed and she whispered something to Jenny. Suddenly after listened to her, Jenny stood up and ran to the restroom.

Ana?

I raced to the restroom too and when I saw Ana with Jenny, I could see how upset she was. But when she started to tear up, it broke my heart.

Lisa. That woman is really a bastard. I ask my maid what happen and she tells me what she heard. I couldn't believe what she said. I will deal with Lisa later. But now, I'm going to take care of my woman.

I know Jenny took Ana to her old room so I wait outside. I will wait until she ready to come out.
