"Katie" shiro said with a small smile as the girl sat on a small bench outside the celebration for voltron finally coming home party. 

"oh, hey shiro" Pidge smiled and shiro sat next to her.

"you ok" shiro asked with worry.

"yeah just got a little hot" Pidge smiled kindly.

"i dont mean that" Shiro sighed.

"mean what" Pidge asked.

"lance and allura. Katie i know you still like him and yet your going to be the ring holder and one of lance best men at the wedding" Shiro said with a frown.

Lance and Katie was dating in space and lance even won matt over. Everyone was happy for the couple but then it soon ended. Pidge was taken by the galra and it took two months to save her. She came back to find Lance in love with Allura, Katie acted brave and broke it off saying she didnt like him anymore either. She watched lance confess and after Allura lost lotor she accepted him. She watched as they dated and now they be getting married next month. Keith, Hunk and Shiro all knew Katie fake not loving him anymore to make him happy. They were angry they didnt notice lance suddenly extra flirts with Allura while Katie was taken. They hated the fact she took two months of torture for them all and not giving into the galra just to return the man you loved loving another. They wanted her to be happy and she chose his happiness over her own. They wanted to punch lance when he asked her to be the ring holder and his best man at the wedding. They knew she was hurting.

"what are you talking about, I'm so happy for my best man marrying his dream girl" Pidge said with a fake smile.

"Katie, dont lie to me" shiro said with worry and pidge let tears fall.

"that could have been us" Pidge choked out before letting her tears fall more freely. Shiro bought her into a tight hug and let her cry it out. 

"I'm so sorry Katie" Shiro said with worry and let the girl cry out.

"i love him shiro" Pidge cried and cried making the older man want to cry himself. He would tell her to be brave and just be happy for him but he knew she was already being strong by acting as just a friend with the man she loved. She let him be happy but giving up her future with him. She been acting so much while holding in her own pain. 

Keith wanted to slap Allura becuase it was clear she didnt love lance, he was just her second option and she took it. Hunk wanted to reject being the best man becuase he didnt want to go to such a loveless marriage but knew he couldn't do that to lance who seem overjoyed. Shiro just wished they could go back in time and stop lance from suddenly falling in love with allura while his girlfriend was dealing with torture by the galra. 

"shiro .. Pidge what's wrong" Lance said with worry and went pale as he saw the crying girl in shiro arms. 

"sorry, i just stabbed my little toe on the edge and needed to cry the pain out instead of cursing yelling it out" Pidge lied.

"lance, why are you crying" Shiro asked with worry as the tall Cuban boy started cry.

"because i can feel her pain" Lance said with tears and pidge only wished he could feel half the pain she felt why loving him in secret. 

"you dork" Pidge giggled and sat up wiping her tears away.

"and proud of it" Lance grinned and wipe his tears.

"anyone how can we help" Shiro asked with a kind smile.

"Adam looking for you, he wants a slow dance" Lance said with a small smile.

"you gonna be ok" Shiro asked with a small worried smile.

"i be fine space dad, now go dance with your lover" Pidge grinned and push shiro up.

"understood" shiro laughed and walked away.

"how your toe" Lance asked with worry.

"it feels better now, thanks" Pidge smiled and stood up.

"that's good, wanna ask the DJ to do the Cha Cha Slide" Lance smirked.

"well its not a true party without the Cha Cha Slide" Pidge giggled and the two started walking back to the party. 

"in time for the slow dance" Keith smirked and took Pidge hand.

"and why are you slow dancing with pidge" Lance asked with his arms crossed.

"because me and Pidge are the only non couple here and i wont be dancing with shiro and Adam by spinning in a circle" Keith sighed and lead Pidge to the dance floor.

"dont fall over and you both be fine" Hunk laughed next to them as he was going to dance with shay but knew keith and pidge didnt really do formal dances.

"fall over, why would you fall over in a dance" Allura asked as she reached the dance floor with lance. 

"its nothing but for you aliens just follow your partner lead" Matt grinned and pulled his alien girlfriend closer. (It the one in his rebel crew, they never released her name sadly).

"dont worry, you both be fine i seen pidge dance on top of matt toes many times and keith your done the same with me" Shiro grinned making the two embarrassed of their childhoods. 

"its now starting" Adam smiled and shiro pulled him closer like everyone else pulled their partner closer.

Pidge and keith did well, they mostly just chatted and laughed as they dance making mess up less when they tried to focus on doing the dance right. Shay and Hunk were doing well, Matt was making out with girlfriend while swinging side to side. Shiro and Adam was the best slow dancers and was looking at each other with full of love. Lance and allura wasn't doing so well since allura wouldn't listen to lance as he tried teaching her how to dance. Pidge watched as lance frowned as allura yelled at him for not listening to her about how its impossible to dance like humans. 

"want to sneak off and get a drink, you dont need to see them" Keith said with a frown as he followed Pidge glance.

"no, I'm having fun dancing with you or if we could call it dancing" Pidge laughed.

"just saying, i dont mind heading to the bar at the back of the room" Keith grinned.

"maybe later, after our freaky dance" Pidge smiled.

"yes my queen" Keith teased making them both laugh. 

"that could be us" Lance whisper with a frown as he watched keith and pidge laugh while dancing.
