"Katie I'm sorry" Keith said with a frown not looking her in the eyes.

"its fine keith, your not alone" Pidge smiled bravely making him look up in shock.

"I'm not" Keith asked with hope.

"me being on earth and you being with the blade of Marmora and atlas it made her lose that spark. I noticed someone else" Pidge said with a gentle smile.

"so did I, I'm glad you can be happy Katie" Keith smiled.

"I'm glad your found someone who cherish you keith" Pidge smiled and keith nodded.

"friends" Keith asked with a worried smile.

"friends heck no we still the voltron family, dont forget we the arms of voltron who kicked more ass then lance" Pidge grinned and they both chuckled.

"take care Katie" Keith smiled.

"be careful out there" Pidge smiled and keith nodded before walking out the room. 

Pidge fake brave smiles faded and she let her tears fall. 

She notice keith and Acxa was getting closer but trusted him and their love for each other. She must have been the only who still felt the love they held. 

She knew she couldn't just cry and break down because that hurt keith. She wasn't going to hurt the one she loved even if it mean lying and acting. 

She didnt really meet anyone else but she knew he felt guilt for loving another while she waited on earth for him. She lied to protect  the small bond that was left. She was happy acting a fake life if that meant she could stay close to him a little. 

She let her tears fall, she let her heart scream out in pain ... For she had just lost the man she love to another. 

Days turned into weeks, weeks turning into months, months turned into a whole year. 

A hole year had pass since the broke up and yet she still loved him more then anything else in the world. 

Lance and Hunk knew she was hurting but knew she was faking her smile to keep Keith happy. They wanted to help but knew she just push them away. They both watched as she slowly died inside by each couple photo, each video chat, each meet up, each call and worse of all his smile towards another. They wanted to pull her away but how can you pull an important scientist who helping to protect earth while teaching the next generation for a break. 

They had no choice but to call in the big guns and soon shiro and matt was by her labs door. Matt pack his and a bag for his sister. Shiro had his own bag pack along with lance and hunk. 

Pidge turned to them confused why they all had bags in their hands. 

"we going on holiday" Matt smiled to his sister as he walked over to her desk placing her note book down.

"I got work" Pidge sighed and rolled her eyes.

"we know your hurting pidge, we know you fake a smile while loving him to protect hurting him" Hunk said with a small smile and pidge froze.

"we know your breaking and yet cant escape becuase he someone we work with and talk with each week but this week we going on holiday without him. Your going to have fun with us and get over him" Lance said proudly.

"no getting out of this" Pidge asked and all four boys shook their heads.

"we told keith that we had a side mission and non of us can make the group chat this week, so it just be us five chilling with no keith to make you cry" Shiro smiled and Pidge took her lab coat of.

"lets go" Pidge smiled and followed her friends to lance family car. He borrowed it since he knew they need a big car. 

The Small cabin that shiro and matt was able to  borrow for a week was a six hour drive away and they all had three hours to go. Matt was on his phone, Hunk was snacking while colouring. Lance was singling along to the music on the radio not always in tune. Shiro had headphones in since he knew lance didnt always know the song he tried singing. Pidge had her headphones in and was tapping to the beat but then something hit her.

"why is James with us" Pidge asked as she pointed to the awkwardly sat James in the back who was on a tablet. 

"I would also like to know why I was dragged along" James asked with a sigh.

"well he overheard us talking about staying at the cabin while we told the garrison we needed on a private mission so we could all get leave ... we dragged him along so he couldn't tell the garrison since it meant he grass on himself" Matt said with a grin.

"I already said I wouldn't tell" James frown.

"oh just be excited over a free week holiday" Hunk smiled as he passed out some cookies.

"anyway didn't you want to hang with pidge" Shiro said with a gentle smiled.

"that was a week again becuase one of my students broke a practice gun and I was looking for her to ask if she could fix it before my next class ... I didnt mean I want to be kidnap to the middle of nowhere and hang" James said annoyed.

"oh well a holiday good for you" Lance smiled.

"trust me just go with the flow otherwise you go insane" Pidge smiled and James nodded. 

Pidge wouldn't lie, she did enjoy her week with her friends in the cabin. They, talked, laughed, joked and just mess around. They walking in the woods, jump in the lake, watched movies, tried free style baking until hunk cried and band them from the kitchen. They all joy messed around like wild teens even if they were all in their early twenties now. 

She felt free from her feelings over keith. She could laugh and smile for real again and she loved it. 

She got closer to James and he helped her prank her brother and lance more then once. The two got closer and learned a lot about each other. Yes they both teach at the garrisons and work together as MFE and voltron. But they never got close as James and Katie. She was enjoying her time with James and he seem to enjoy hanging with her as well.

The others smiled as Katie was her old joyful self. They saw her real smile, heard her real laugh and was happy to see her being herself not a broken pidge. They also noticed how much she was having with James and made bets on who make the first move. They were glad Pidge was living with a smile again and when they came back from the holiday she stayed happy. 

She was no longer fake smiling during the group chats or during meet ups. Everyone noticed how her and James would be hanging out more and cheer it on. Keith wasn't too happy to have James answer the group chat for pidge and the rest smirked. Sadly it turned out that pidge had her head in the middle of a jet and couldn't answer herself so she forced James too. But the rest did enjoy watching James gently picking Pidge up from the jet and placing her down. 

As months pass Pidge started to glow a little more making her friends and brother even more happy for her. She started dating James and no longer needed to fake smile. 

She loved keith but now she love James.

She no longer needed her fake smiles.

 She was happy.
