"why are you green" lance asked as he sat by the bath staring at his green skin, hazel soft hair, hazel bright eyes and cute freckled cheeks mermaid girlfriend sitting in his bath reading. 

"why are you tan" Pidge asked the tall Cuban boy with chocolate brown hair, bright beautiful blue ocean eyes, tan skin and handsome boyfriend. 

"no clue" Lance said with a goofy grin.

"same here" Pidge giggled.

"are you sure, you dont want to go home" Lance asked with worry as he held her hand.

"I'm sure and sitting in a bath isn't as bad as one might think" Pidge smiled.

Lance met pidge when he was just a boy. He around six years old when he fell of his papa boat and nearly drowned in the sea. Pidge saved him by kissing him and giving him air. Since that day he always visit a small part of the beach blocked by rocks to see her. They would laugh and chat non stop in the couple hours they spent together each day. They grew up and lance stopped seeing her once he left high school and left for collage. He returned after getting a job and buying a house near the beach just to be able to see his crush again.  At first pidge didnt come and he guessed she wouldn't return after he left her without a word. 

Then one night on his way home from a flower shop he heard a cat meow and walked to the cat. It sounded hurt and he ended up in an ally behind a old building with blacked windows. He help free the cat but heard a voice he knew so well. He snuck into the building and found pidge stuck in a huge fish tank. After checking no one else was around he helped her out and carried her to his house. He filled the bath up with salt water and waited for her to wake up. 

Its been a couple months since then and Pidge has been living in his bath. Lance finally confessed to her last week and was shocked to hear she got caught when she was swimming to look for him. She told him she loved him as much as he loved her and they started to date. 

But lance was getting worried. He Loved pidge and was so happy to have her as his lover. But she had a home, a family who might be worrying over her or thinking she dead. He was worried over her living in her bathroom all his life. She deserved to swim freely and she couldn't as she sat in his bath. He wanted her to stay by his side but he didnt want to trap her. 

"pidge" Lance said with a small smile and held her hand a little tighter making her turn to him with worry.

"what's wrong" pidge said with worry and looked into his sadden blue eyes.

"you need to return to the ocean" Lance said with a sad smile and pushed some of her hair behind her ear.

"no, please dont say anymore" Pidge said with a sad smile.

"you need to return to your home, your family, the sea" Lance said with a brave smiled and placed his hand on her cheek while still holding her hand tightly in his other hand.

"i am home, you are my family, you are my sea" Pidge said with a smile and placed her other hand over his on her cheek.

"pidge, you cant live like this, i hate seeing you stuck in my bath everyday and night .. i want you to be able to swim freely" Lance said holding back tears.
