^This is how I imagine Oli's school uniform but with a black blazer on top of the shirt and a tie too.

Oliver walked to school the next day with a giddy bounce in his step. Last night he had dreamt about the secret admirer that wrote him that letter; he imagined them revealing themselves to him with some big romantic gestures only for them to fall in love and live happily ever after. Maybe he was getting a bit ahead of himself here but he didn't really care.

Oli had always fantasised about the concept of love. He was obsessed with everything from Valentine's Day, to weddings, to the soppy romance films he always made his family watch with him (much to his brothers dismay). Which is why he found this anonymous letter to be so exciting, it was a potential start to his journey of love.

He smiled excitedly as he reached his locker. His entire body was practically shaking with the excitement of opening his locker and potentially finding another love note. He shrugged his blue vans backpack off of his back and opened up the metal locker.

The corners of his mouth faltered when he noticed there was nothing in his locker but the chemistry housework he got yesterday. He had built himself up so much, that he had never even had the thought that they might not write him another letter today.

He shoved his chemistry homework into his backpack with a large huff before making his way over to where his friendship group normally hung out. The way that Oliver's year group worked was that there were two popular groups; the group that Oli was in and another group.

Oli's group was made up of mostly girl and some of their boyfriends. They were all really nice people who were accepting of Oli's feminine fashion sense and his openly gay sexuality. The head of their group was a girl called Elissa Franceschi, who was one of the kindest people you will ever meet. She had been Oli's best friend since the first day of year 7 and she was the first person Oli told about his sexuality. When Oli first told her that he wanted to try wearing girls clothes, she handed him a skirt and showed him how to apply makeup with no questions asked.

The other group of popular people was run by Josh Franceschi, Elissa's twin brother. Oli had never really talked to anyone from that group before but he knew what they were like. They all wore black jeans and leather jackets, with styled up hair and piercing eyes that warned you not to mess with them. They went to parties and got drunk, messed around at school and got into fights.

Oli had never talked to Josh before, despite him being his best friends brother. Whenever he went around to their house, Elissa always made the effort to make sure they avoided Josh like the plague and when he ate at their house Josh would always sit opposite him at the table but would never speak.

He approached his friendship group and they all smiled his way, Elissa running over to give him a big hug. Oh well, even if that person never wrote him another letter, he would alway have his best friend to love him.

Oli sat in his English class bored out of his mind. His fingers absentmindedly played with the hem of his skirt as he waited for the lesson to be over. It was just his luck to get the worst English teacher in the entire department, not to mention the most boring. On top of that, the teacher Mr Walker had put them in a seating plan, meaning that he wasn't sitting near any of his friends that were in this lesson.

He looked down at his plaid school skirt and sighed. The school uniform was so ugly and boring, why couldn't they had added some colour instead of making the entire uniform grey, black and white? He looked down at his blue painted nails and thought about how pretty the colour was in comparison to his plain black blazer.

"You can sit down there next to Mr Sykes." The teacher said, snapping Oli out of his colour filled daydream. He discreetly rolled his eyes at the way the teacher emphasised the 'mr' part. He hated the way that some of his teachers patronised him for wearing a skirt to school instead of trousers like all the other boys. From the moment he stepped into this English class he could tell the teacher was going to be a prat about his feminine style, much like most of the older teachers at this school.

Not that he cared.

The person that Mr Walker was talking to started to walk towards where Oli was sitting, causing Oli to raise his head to see who it was. He was met with two dark blue eyes staring back at him, a smirk evident on his face. Josh Franceschi.

Josh pulled back the chair next to Oli and flopped down into it, confidence radiating off his every movement. He was wearing a black denim jacket instead of his school blazer and his tie was short, loosely hanging around his collar as it barely reached his chest.

Oli snapped his eyes back to his work and began fidgeting with his skirt again, suddenly aware of Josh's eyes on his face. His cheeks grew hot under the attention as he tried to ignore the way Josh looked down at his skirt that barely covered the top of his thighs.

At the end of the day Oli went to his locker to wait for Elissa. It was Friday, so to celebrate getting through the first week of school Elissa and him were going to have a girly night in at her house. Oliver opened his locker, a smile playing on his lips when he saw the pink envelope fall out.

He picked the envelope off the floor and opened it happily. The same smell of mens aftershave caressed his nose again, this time stronger than it was yesterday. He unfolded the piece of lined paper inside and began to read it.

If it hurts this much then it must be love
And it's a lottery, I can't wait to draw your name
Oh, I'm trying to get to you but time isn't on my side
If the truth's the worst I can do then I guess that I have lied

Keeping me awake, it's been like this now for days
My heart is out at sea, my head all over the place
I'm losing sense of time and everything tastes the same
I'll be home in a day, I fear that's a month too late

That night I slept on your side of the bed
So it was ready when you got home
We're like noughts and crosses
In that opposites always attract

The words looked like some kind of poem? Song lyrics maybe? He looked over the last two lines again, remembering how the person had mentioned that opposites attract in their last letter too. He guessed that meant the person he was looking for was pretty different from Oliver himself.

He looked into the bottom of the envelope to see red rose petals filling up the space. He took one of them out, running his fingers along the smooth surface of the blood red petal. Whoever was sending these letters clearly knew him well enough to know he loves flowers but then again who doesn't?

Footsteps echoes in the once empty corridor around him and he looked up to see an excited looking Elissa approaching him. He quickly put the letter into his blazer pocket, hiding it from her.

He didn't know why he wanted to keep the love letters a secret from his best friend but he did. He wanted this person to be his little secret, an intimate thing between just him and the writer. Besides, what if the person writing the letters found out he had told Elissa and stopped sending them because they didn't want it to spread around the school?

Oli smiled at Elissa as she came right up to him and threw her arms around Oli's shoulders. Oli kissed her on the cheek in return.

"What were you just blushing at Oli?" She asked him. His cheeks burned up even more, he had hoped she wouldn't have noticed how pink his cheeks were from reading his new letter.

"N-nothing, I'm just a little warm." He lied, hating how it felt to keep something from his best friend.

She smiled at him before launching into some rant about her pervy biology teacher as they walked through the school and out of the entrance. Oli half listened to her words, his mind a little preoccupied with the words of someone else.
