Oli's pov

"Was it you?" I blurted out before I could stop myself.

He stared at me from across the bed with wide eyes. My heart pounded in anticipation.

"W-what?" He asked with a horrified expression across his face. He looked like a deer in headlights, completely vulnerable.

"Are you the person that's been sending me letters? Texting me? Giving me gifts?" I asked quickly. He looked away from me and instead stared at his socks.

"Oli I-"

"Just answer the question; yes or no?" I snapped.

"Y-yes." He confessed with a stutter. He avoided my eye contact as if my gaze was burning him. I shifted around in his bed, unsure of what to do with myself.

"Were your playing me?" I asked in a sad, quiet voice.

"No, no, no." He rushed out as his eyes finally snapped back to mine in a panicked state. "Of course not. Everything I've said to you was true, I really like you Oli."

My heart fluttered slightly at his words. I couldn't believe Josh actually liked me. All this time I've been so conflicted between Josh and my secret admirer; I had never once considered that they could be the same person.

"Then why didn't you meet me at the party?" I asked, confused.

"Because I was scared." He sighed as he buried his face in his hands. His entire body was slouched over as he leant his bent elbows on his knees.

"Scared of what?" I pushed.

"Scared that once you knew it was me you wouldn't like me anymore, that's you'd write it off as some kind of joke or a way for me to get into your pants. I was scared you saw me as your best friends brother and nothing more." He groaned in frustration.

"Josh that's ridiculous!" I stressed. "I don't care about what other people say about you or the fact that you are Elissa's brother. It doesn't change what you wrote in those letters or all the times you've been nice to me or the fact that I like you for you."

"You like me?" He asked slowly.

"Obviously! I've liked you for ages, I just didn't want to say anything because I didn't want to hurt the person who was writing me letters feelings."

"I can assure you I've liked you for way longer than you've liked me. I practically feel in love with you the first time Elissa brought you home in year 7." He rolled his eyes, making me laugh.

"Then why didn't you say anything?"

"Because I couple weeks after we met I told Elissa how I felt about you and she threw it back in my face, telling me to back off her best friend." He sighed. "Ever since then she's made sure that I avoid you like the plague. The letters were the only way I could get to communicate with you without her interfering."

"Huh, and here's me thinking you were writing the letters because you're a hopeless romantic." I laugh.

"I am when it comes you you, babe." He smirked and winked at me. My face flushed red as I hid it behind the sleeves of Josh's hoodie. He crawled over to me on the bed and pulled my hands away from my face.

I looked up at him as he looked down at me. We looked into each other's eyes, my blush deepening when I realised how close we suddenly were. He leaned forward and closed his eyes tightly. I closed mine too, as his velvet soft lips touched mine. His hands went to cup my face, being careful to avoid the large bruise that was on my cheek bone.

It was a quick, innocent kiss but it still managed to make my entire body flare up. He rested his chin on my head gently as he wrapped his arms around me, slowly lowering us both back onto the mattress.

"Can I stay the night?" I asked hesitantly. "I don't want to go back out alone." I didn't quite know wether than statement was the truth or just an excuse to stay in his arms like this for the rest of the night.

"Of course." He whispered against my cheek as he gently kissed the bruise that was there.
