Oli's pov

I was finally ready for the party which started in an hour. I was nervous as hell to finally meet the anonymous person that I had a crush on who had been sending me letters for months now. I had to shower twice and  spray on almost an entire can of deodorant just so that I wasn't sweating buckets.

I looked in the full length mirror on my way out. I had on my skirt and sweater from the other day, accompanied by some classic black vans. My hair was pretty messy looking, even though I had spent almost an hour straightening and styling it.

I shouted goodbye to my family before stepping out into the cold British air. It was a pretty long walk to the house where the party was being held, probably half an hour or so through the centre of town.

10 minutes into the walk and I was freezing my balls off, I should have probably brought a coat. I decided to take the short cut through town so that I could get there quicker, the only problem was the short cut involved going through the quite dodgy part of town.

I shrugged and carried on walking, ignoring a group of drunk middle aged men who cat called me from across the street. I entered one of the many alleyways that made up this part of town, it smelled like piss and was dimly lit but I didn't really care, the quicker I got to the party the better no matter what I had to go through to get there.

Suddenly, I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket, sending shivers through my whole body as I pulled it out. I had to squint to see the bright phone screen in the almost pitch black alleyway.

Danielsmith: Sorry, can't come to the party anymore :(

My heart broke slightly as I read the message. He didn't want to meet me anymore? Had I done something wrong. I started to type out a message, but then deleted it and decided to just leave him on read. He deserved it anyway.

I can't believe he just ditched me like that, invited me to a party just to bail on me at the last second. I felt like a right idiot. I can't believe I went to all this effort to look good for him, I'm such a moron.

I sighed and leant against the wall behind me. I closed my eyes as I tried to keep calm. I had been played, and I was so angry and sad and heartbroken. I really thought this guy genuinely liked me, but I guess it was just all part of his game.

A hand grabbed at my wrist, snapping me back into reality as I realised I wasn't alone. I opened my eyes to find multiple pairs staring back at me. The man holding my wrist was wearing a black hoodie and looked to be in his early twenties. I turned my head to see two other similar looking men, both with their arms crossed as they surrounded me. They were all pretty tall, towering over my small frame.

"What's someone like you doing out here all alone? You know these parts of town are dangerous right?" One of them laughed. I kept quiet as I avoided eye contact with all of them.

"Hey! Look at us when we're speaking to you." Another one snapped, grabbing my chin tightly and forcing it up. I yelped, making one of them nit me across the face. It stung like a bitch, and my head flew back into the wall hard making me whimper.

"Help me!" I screamed over and over again until my lungs burnt as they took it in turns to hit and man handle me. I was crying hysterically at this point, every part of my body on fire. I reached for my phone but they threw it on the floor out of my reach.

I felt one of them grab my legs and that's when I lost it, and began kicking and screaming like my life depended on it. It probably did.

"Hey!" I heard someone yell, as my vision was invaded by blinding light. My body suddenly came into contact with the cold wet ground as I was dropped against it. I heard heavy footsteps run away from me and that when I knew my attackers were gone. The light coming from the end of the alleyway got closer as my saviour neared.

I looked up from the ground with hooded eyes as they hovered over me. I looked up into their blue eyes. Familiar blue eyes.

"Josh?" I asked in disbelief. He pulled me into his arms and off the floor, making me whimper in pain.

"Oh my god Oli I'm so glad you're okay." He sighed as he picked me up and carried me our of the alleyway.

"I wouldn't quite say that "okay" was the word." I coughed as I felt blood at the back of my throat. My entire body fell limp in Josh's arms as I let him carry me across the city helplessly.

I must have passed out or something because next thing I knew I was being placed on a comfy bed. I opened my eyes and looked around, realising I must have been in Josh's room. The walls were painted red and grey and the entire thing was messy, just like I had imagined his room would be. He had a chest of draws with picture of him and his friends on it as well as ones of his family. There was even a couple with me in them.

A few seconds later the door cracked open and Josh slowly came in. He seemed so cautious, it was almost funny. I always knew Josh as so confident and outgoing, it was weird to see his so shy like this.

"Hey, how do you feel?" He asked shyly.

"Sore and cold." I replied emotionlessly. My entire body and mind felt completely drained of everything.

"Yeah your clothes got pretty wet, do you want to borrow some of mine? You won't warm up in wet clothes."

"If that's okay with you." I said bashfully. I didn't know why but I suddenly felt so nervous under his presence.

He walked over to his wardrobe and pulled out a hoodie and some plaid pyjama bottoms for me before turning around so that I could get dressed in peace. I silently thanked him for giving me some privacy.

I slipped off my soaking wet clothes and pulled the hoodie over my head and slipping on the plaid bottoms, which were so long on me that I had to turn them up at the ends.

I buried my face into the fabric of the soft hoodie, taking in the smell of men's aftershave mixed with spices. It smelt.....familiar. Suddenly, my mind clicked and I remembered where I had smelt that smell before, why it was so familiar to me.

"Was it you?" I blurted out before I could stop myself.
