Sorry for not updating this for so long, I've been pretty sick so it was hard to find the motivation

Oli was still avoiding Elissa like the plague, though she kept trying to get through to him for some reason. But Oli didn't want to cave into her that easily, no, he wanted to show her that she had hurt his feelings.

He sat with Josh and his friends at lunch, they were pretty cool he guessed. He didn't really understand any of their inside jokes so he felt kind of like an outsider to the group. Before school he would go to the library and text Daniel Smith whilst pretending to do his homework.

That's exactly what he was doing this morning, on a pretty rainy, cold Tuesday. He had his physics book open in front of him, along with all his pastel highlighters, whilst he texted away on his phone.

It was pretty early so he was surprised that Daniel Smith was even awake, he knew most people from their school wouldn't be.

Danielsmith: have you ever been to a party before?

Oli thought for a second. As much as he hated to admit it, he had never been to a party before except the ones he had as a kid and family gatherings. He frowned at how lame that sounded in his head.

Oliversykes: not really...why?

Danielsmith: Do you want to come with me to the one at Jordan Fish's house on Friday?

Oli's eyes stared at the screen in shock? The guy who he had been talking to for weeks anonymously finally wanted to reveal himself? It almost sounded too good to be true.

His palms began to sweat and his heart beat faster at the thought. He couldn't wait to meet this person, to see their face, to hug them, maybe more.....

Oliversykes: of course! :)

Danielsmith: great. I'll meet you there at 8 ;)

Oliversykes: it's a date :)

Danielsmith: yeah it is baby ;)

Oli smiled at the cute nickname and the fact his crush had just confirmed they were going on a date. He pulled out his mirror from his pencil case and began smoothing out his hair and making sure his tie was straight. He knew "Daniel Smith" would probably see him today and he wanted to look his best for his future date.

This was all so exciting for Oli, he had never been on a date before. He began to panic about what he was going to wear. He sighed, thinking that now would be the perfect time to ask Elissa for advice if it wasn't for the fact they were ignoring each other.

He decided he needed his best friend back, being without her was so hard for him. He packed up his things and left the library in search of her.

It didn't take him long to locate her. She was standing by the wall outside the science block with the usual group that they hung around with. They were all laughing about some joke Oli didn't understand and it made him feel kind of weird as he approached them.

"Ummm Elissa, can we talk?" Oli said awkwardly. She whipped her head around so quickly at the sound of his voice, that Oli was sure she had gotten whiplash.

"Yeah sure!" She said before grabbing his hand and dragging him away from the group.

"I'm sorry for ignoring you." He sighed.

"I'm sorry too, for being such a bitch. I'm working through some personal things and I shouldn't have taken it out on you." She confessed shyly.

"Friends again?" He asked hopefully.

"Yeah friends again." She smiled before hugging him. He had missed her hugs so much, it was unreal. He didn't know how he had lasted this long without one.

"I need to go shopping." He said.

"Why?" She asked.

"Ummm I'm off to someone's party on Friday and I don't know what to wear." He said sheepishly.

"You, Oliver Sykes, are off to a party?" She raised her eyebrows in disbelief before bursting in laughter. Oli couldn't help but laugh with her. "Of course I'll help you."

"Thanks. I knew I could count on you, even if you would bully me for it."

"Meet me at mine, 7 o'clock sharp, we have some serious shopping to do." She said in a serious tone, one that made Oli burst out laughing once again, it felt good to have his best friend back.
