Start of Christmas Break

Andromeda's POV

It's finally Christmas break and I'm going back to the manor with Draco. Hermione had told me how she, Harry and Ron have been looking for someone called Nicolas Flamel. I told her I'd do some research in my parents library over break. Anyway I'm sitting with her on the train ride back to Kings Cross Station.

"I still can't believe you have your own library, you're so lucky" she tells me.

"Nothing like the one at Hogwarts, but it's ok" I say shrugging as I pat Coco.

"So did you complete your homework before break?" she asks me.

"Sure did" I say smiling and suddenly Neville appears with Seamus.

"There's our favourite snake" Seamus says smiling as he sits beside me.

"There are two of my favourite lions, but you two can't beat my favourite lioness" I states. Hermione blushes while Seamus rolls his eyes. "So what are your plans for break?" I ask them.

"My parents are taking me to Ireland to see our relatives" Seamus states.

"Gran is taking me to see my parents" Neville adds.

"That's great Neville" Hermione and I say together.

"Are you sure you two aren't sisters?" Seamus asks us.

"Yeah, you two are very alike" Neville states.

"We're not, though it'd be great if we were" Hermione states.

"I always wanted a sister" I say smiling. "Who wants to play a game of exploding snap?" I ask. The boys agree and we start to play while Coco goes to Hermione for attention.

(Station)

I said goodbye to my friends before we left the compartment. I then find Draco and we find our parents. Who apperate us home. We all go to the dining room for dinner. "So Severus tells us your studying is going well" mum says.

"Oh yes, I'm studying very hard" I state nodding my head.

"Neither of you are trying hard enough if a mudblood is beating you in your classes" father growls.

"I'm tied with her actually in most classes. However I'm doing better in potions" I tell him.

"Not good enough and Draco you must study harder to get to your sister's level" he states.

"Yes father" Draco says nodding his head.

"Oh Andromeda dear, Severus says you'll be spending the weekend with him at his house. He wants your help with potions" mum tells me.

"Why her and not me?" Draco asks pouting.

"I am better at potions" I tell him proudly.

"Not for long" he tells me.

"Be sure to do everything Severus says Andromeda" father tells me.

"Yes father" I say and we finish dinner in silence. I then go to my room and find it exactly as I left it. I thought mum would of changed the colour scheme after I was put in Slytherin. But I'm glad she didn't. I see a letter on my pillow and open it.

Dear Andromeda,

I have organized for you to meet your god mother and her family. Your family will believe you are with me all weekend. But you will be with them instead. Tell no one.

Professor Snape

I smile at the letter, I'll finally be able to meet my godmother. I'm so excited. But first I have studying to do. I grab the list of books Hermione told me to look through. I go my family library and start to look for the books. When Dobby appears dusting the shelves.

"Dobby, may I borrow you for a moment?" I ask him.

"Of course, miss" he says bowing.

"I need these books, can you please search the library and bring them to my reading chair?" I ask him.

"Of course, right away miss" he says taking the list and disappears. I go to my usual reading space and wait. He soon returns with the books and I thank him. He leaves with a bow. I start to read the books.

(Three hours later)

I'd skimmed through all the books and there was no mention of a Nicolas Flamel. I sigh and summon Dobby. "Please return these to their shelves and thank you" I say before leaving him. I go to my room and fall onto my bed. Startling Coco and I mumble "sorry".

Suddenly mum enters the room and I sit up. "How are you settling in at Hogwarts? Have you made any friends?" she asks sitting beside me.

"I've made a few friends, but I doubt father would approve of them" I mumble.

"Don't mumble, it's not lady like" she tells me.

"Sorry mum, but I'm enjoying Hogwarts" I tell her.

"That's good" she says smiling. "But dear, if your father wouldn't approve of your friends. Maybe you should make new ones in Slytherin" she tells me gently.

"But I love my friends and one is like the sister I always wanted" I tell her.

"I know how important sisters are, just know no matter what I love you and so does Draco" she tells me.

"I know and I love you both too" I say hugging her. "Mum when I was at Hogwarts, I found a picture in the Slytherin common room. Of three girls, called the Black sisters. I thought you only had one sister" I tell her fawning confusion.

"I should of told you years ago, but I had another older sister. I named you after her actually and made her your god mother. I haven't spoken to her since she left Hogwarts, though I've kept tabs on her" she explains.

"Why haven't you spoken to her for so long?" I ask her.

"Because she married a hufflepuff, who turned out to be a muggle-born. She was labeled a blood traitor and blasted from the black family tree. I was forbidden from speaking to her" she explains.

"But you still love her" I say.

"Yes" she says nodding her head. "But it doesn't matter anymore, just don't speak of her around your father" she tells me.

"I promise and I love you mum" I say giving her a hug. She hugs me back and tucks me in.

"Sweet dreams my little princess" she says and kisses my forehead.

"Sweet dreams mum" I say tiredly. I yawn and snuggle into my pillow. I fall into a deep dreamless sleep.
